  We booked online without checking trip advisor, never again will we do that. We accidentally booked a non aircon room(seriously what motel in qld doesnt have aircon) but ok that was our fault. Room had carpet peeling up, was very dirty feeling, Tap was constant running and loud, no fan and oh the bed was broken!!! First time I have ever demanded my money back and left asap. $210 is not that budget and certainly not what those rooms are worth.

  I wan not going to do this but......

  Look, I do not bag places, but after trying to remain positive it did not work. We booked this late notice, school holidays and a horse race in town, and there was not much available. Booking process was OK, and looking for four beds at this time of year was always going to be hard. First impressions, mmm, I guess not too bad, the owners had gone home, but the room was open, the a/c was on, and we were tired. There was no light in the bathroom, we rang the owners, they said they could change it, but they lived forty minutes away, oh well, shower in the dark, no big deal. Could not sleep, due to proximity to the highway, and the traffic was noisy, on top of that the noisy a/c motor was outside the bedroom window. Ok, we'll turn that off, and just use the fan, and open the kitchen windows. Mmmm, fan only works on one setting, aircraft mode. (you know the sound those aircraft turbo prop engines makes, as the bird is screaming down the runway?), well the aircraft was in the living room. Gold coast was extremely hot, and there was no way to cool down, without opening windows which let in street noise. What else? blinds, that neither open or close, and can not be pulled up or down, but there is a reason for this, if you pulled them up, the centimetre of dust would be dislodged, and due to the air circulation of the turbo propeller... not worth thinking about. It's close to lots of restaurants, and shops, five minutes walk to the broad walk. Use for emergencies only.

  Jesus Christ, pray for me and my kids

  when i arrived i had to wait 45 minutes for anyone to attend to me at the front desk. once i was finally shown to my room with my two young kids, we discovered that the door to our room was held together with duck tape. surprisingly, the door opened. i wish it hadn't. i set our stuff down, examining the room. there was stains everywhere. my 6 year old went for a swim in the pool and woke up the next day complaining that his skin was burning. my younger son found a used band aid in the bathroom next to the toilet that looked like it hadn't been cleaned, ever. as i was putting my kids to bed we heard very loud sex through the thin walls that lasted until 2AM. the room smelled of piss and cigarettes that gave me and my kids headaches. the tap water was murky and only worked if you turned both the handles. please do not stay here. i think i contracted a disease.

  LPF 8181 1/5 I booked this place through hotels.com & the moment we arrived I knew it was a very dirty little place, but when we actually opened the door to our room, I realised just how bad it really was. The putrid smell of god knows what hit us. The walls were filthy, the floor had sand all over it, it looked like it had never been cleaned ever since the day it was built, really it was just REVOLTING!! We had our children with us & I really didnt feel comfortable letting them sleep on the beds, since the linen stunk & had what looked like coffee stains all over them. I kept thinking we would probably catch crabs or some other dirty diseases if we stay here, so we made the choice to leave after 10 minutes. I rang Hotels.com to request a refund immediately & booked in somewhere else. Hotels.com could not get through to the owners/manager to confirm the cancellation as no one was answering the calls at Broadwater Keys, so they kept trying & called me the next day to tell me they received a response from them about my cancellation. They read out an email that they had received from Broadwater Keys to say that the room we booked with them was was one of their newly renovated rooms & that we had basically made a mess We made the mistake on taking my 2 year old sons wet swimsuit off when we arrived & had accidentally left it in the bathroom & they had taken pictures of that & sent it to Hotels.com & said WE had made a mess a pfft Hotels.com asked if we had taken pics,(which we didnt think to do at the time) so we ended up being charged with the cleaning cost of that disgusting hole. Please dont get caught like us, if you value you & youre loved ones health, DO NOT EVER book a room at this dirty, germy place people, I DO NOT lie, it really is that bad I feel like calling the health department on them, makes me sick to the stomach that people really do actually stay in these rooms this place should be in the minus, by at least 100, just putrid

  Appalling

  For $180 I should have just stayed in a hostel. I have never seen such a disgusting apartment. Filthy floors, dirty bedsheets, someone elses hair in the shower, rust everywhere, questionable stains, holes all throughout the curtains, melted plastic from burns on the shower curtain and the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on. When I eventually worked up the courage to get into the bed, I discovered the bed sheet was wet?! Just to feel safe we had to lift the screen door and slam it in as it wasnt even on correctly. We came across TWO Cockroachs while in the room. The photos online make it look small but tidy and clean. This couldnt have been further from the truth. The hosts were sub par also. On checkout, there was a sign saying they were out of office and to call a specific number. I called and was advised just to leave the key there. No pleasantries, no opportunity to discuss the hell hole theyre charging almost $200 a night for. I will never be returning and will be advising everyone I know to stay clear.
