  Be careful on Sundays

  Clean comfortable and convenient but no reception after 11am on Sundays and access requires an entry code which was not given with my on line booking. It was a stressful arrival which took some sorting. My tip check directly with hotel your access/check in arrangements.

  Not that good

  Travellers beware. We got caught out because we didn't know that there is no one in attendance at this place during the day. We could get in until after 5 pm. This hotel is pretty average. It is on a main road and is noisy. The room was basic as was the typical French breakfast of croissaints and bread.

  Pleasant Stay

  Stayed here recently and we were happy with this budget hotel. The hotel was very clean and looked exactly like the picture. Free parking was a bonus and the staff were very nice. Agree with previous poster who stated that there is not much to do in Cherbourg-Octeville - we went to Cité de la Mer and would recommend it, especially for kids. Also, booking.com clearly state the reception hours (unusual hours to be honest).

  Transit hotel

  Ideal for those arriving on afternoon ferry. Very close to port. Using satnav found it quickly, a lamp post had a red 'this way' arrow at the last junction. Big car park and free. Next to small restaurant which has poorer reviews on trip advisor so we came with a bag of nosh from Marks & Spencer from Portsmouth. If you arrive after 21:00 hrs reception is closed. Just email the hotel before arrival. They give you secret code for night entrance at car park to the rear of hotel by email to get in and will leave your door key card on desk for you once you are there and in. The place is OK for a quick in and out. Carpets would benefit from a quick vacuuming in room but the beds were really clean and comfy. I was not sleeping on the floor so this was fine. Breakfast was about £5 a head and was OK, bread and french stuff of a bready nature. Was easier than searching around outside for breakfast- there was a bakery about 80 yards away. The receptionist was lovely and had a natter with us on our arrival. Overall a transit hotel

  Grotty Hotel

  Quite a depressing grotty hotel. Like going back 20 years. Stunk of cigarette smoke as you entered the lobby. Room was small, uncomfortable and truly miserable. There are no restaurants in the area and its a bit of a drive to the ferry terminal.
