    Worst Location, average service

The Bristol La Place was a last minute accommodation choice for us. The rates seemed to be cheaper for us in a 3 night stay package. However the hotel is situated on a very busy main road and that meant a noisy stay. The entry and reception area was very modern and neat, but the staff were not as hospitable as we would have liked. There was free internet access which was handy. The room we stayed in was a one bedroom apartment with a queen bed in the bedroom. The kitchen was basic with few things to cook with and the lounge room had a lounge that folded out which I slept on. The most uncomfortable 3 nights of my life!!! There was a bar sticking in my back the whole time!! On top of the hotel was a pool that had cool view of surrounding areas. The restaurant was great for the awesome free breakfast buffet, but when we dined there for dinner the food was overpriced and hardly adequate. We were the only ones in the restaurant so when we ordered we thought service would be prompt. But it wasn't and we waited an hour for our meals. The Bristol La Place would be more suited to businessmen passing through and not so much tourists.

    Nice hotel for Business Trips

Rooms are big compared to other hotels (are like apartment) with kitchen, area to have lunch, and son on....good for long stays... Rooms very clean, everything looks like new when you arrive at night... Front desk guys are nice and will help you (at least a I got always help from them)... Do not expect to find fancy bed clothes, those are very simple but comfortble! Internet is free and has nice speed... Cons: - Food: not to much variety, it is good but can has more options - Location: for me was excelente due to my business issues, but for a tourist could be a bad location. Although there is a mall very close, you have nothing nearby and for sure you will need a taxi to move around. - Noise: my room has "street view" and was very noisy, specially between 6pm to 9pm. - If you like to swim, it will be better if you leave your swimming suit at home....pool is really small. I recommend this hotel for business trip only, or if you will be on vacation for long time...better if you are not traveling with kids.

    Not bad

The hotel is simple. The rooms are spacious enough for a family with 2 kids. The bathroom is is not that big. The breakfast is fair. The room i stayed (702) needs some maintenance. The staff is gentle. And a little bit noisy at noght due to be located in a very busy avenue. And the parking lot is not suitable for big cars. Overall, i enjoyed the stay.

    Not bad at all

Stayed here for 5 nights in April. The hotel is situated on a very busy 8 lane road which makes it a bit noisy but easy to get a taxi or a bus. There is a Mcdonalds and Subway restaurant within an easy walking distance, aswell as local markets and a chemist. There is a good sized shopping mall/movies down the road but is a little far to walk. The hotel has a very nice lobby and most of the desk staff speak very basic english. Just enough to understand. The rooms are clean, simple yet comfortable. However they need basic maintenance as bits of trim and skirting were falling off the walls, fittings such as toilet roll and soap holders were all loose etc. The apartments are a good size and design. Only the bedroom is air conditioned but the kitchen/lounge areas have plenty of windows that you can open, the only drawback to this is some noise. The bed clothes are very average but are clean. Housekeeping was great, as was the same day laundry service. The TV was very old and had limited channels but the room had free wifi which is always a huge bonus. The connection and speed of the wifi was really good. Although an apartment the kitchen had very little to offer. There was an oven (with gas cooktop), a fridge, a sink, and alot of bench and cupboard space. There were no utensils such as knives, forks, plates, cups etc. If you wanted any utensils you had to call down to the restaurant which was a bit unusual. The restaurant put on a nice breakfast and was a fairly laid back and casual environment which I liked. The pool deck is very small, as is the gym. They advertise a solarium (which I assume they mean is a sun deck) which is on the roof beside the pool. They also advertise a coffee shop and bar but there was none there when I stayed, however they were constructing a new conference room on the same floor as the restaurant and may have included a coffee shop and bar recently. I am not too familiar with the layout of Belo Horizonte but this hotel didn't seem to be close to anything in particular. There are plenty of places closer to the CBD but the area of Cidade Nova was clean and safe, just a bit of graffitti which ruined it a bit. The Bristol La place is also located near the Ouras Minas which I had a look inside. The Ouras Minas is a full service hotel located across the road from the same shopping centre I mentioned earlier, however is very expensive and does not offer the same spacious apartments. Overall the staff were extremly friendly, polite and were very helpful. I would stay at the Bristol la place if returning to this area but only because it was a walking distance to where I was conducting business

    Stay away from here !!!

The review on Booking.com showed a great Hotel. I booked for three days. On arrival the reception staff were not helpfull. I had booked a room with a double bed, they stated on arrival why do you need a double bed if it is only you staying. I managed to arrange a room with a bigger bed only to find the room was missing the microwave and there was no free WIFI. Breakfast the next day was ok but the resturant staff were not helpfull and with no smile. I had to get out of there. I packed my things cancelled my remaining stay. I returned to my previous hotel Boulevard Plaza which was amazing and i will return there again...
