Great location and cozy roomWe spent 2 nights at the Brigantine Inn in Lunenburg and we enoyed our stay. The room was clean and comfortable (although the shower is tiny). We stayed in Room #2, the Picton room, and we were lucky enough to have our own private balcony with deck chairs overlooking the water where the ships docked! The downside is that there is a restaurant/pub directly below the rooms that plays music until about 12:45am each night. We were there during the week, so it wasn't too loud. You couldn't really hear the music with the TV and/or the air conditioner on and I sleep with ear plugs when I travel anyway which helps. I did read some terrible reviews online, however, about special concert events at the pub that were too loud to sleep through, so I guess my partner and I were lucky that we didn't book on one of these nights. It is also strange that there is no front desk, so patrons need to check in at the bar downstairs. Overall though, we enjoyed our stay. You sure can't beat the central location!

Outdated decor, dirty carpets, hallways smell like crayons but great location and food in restaurant below is fantastic! This town is spectacular and a great place to wander, take photos, grab some drinks and excellent food everywhere it seems. Even the food in the hotel restaurant is fantastic. This bed and breakfast is SUB PAR. When you arrive you check in at an extremely busy bar room after walking down a dark staircase with chairs piled up at the bottom of the stairwell. Not a welcome place to arrive. Then flag a server and attempt to check in where you are simply an annoyance as they are too busy to perform this role and wait tables. The rooms seem to have not been updated since the 80s and the carpets seem dirty. We stayed in the bounty room. Ew. However, bed is comfortable and there is a/c which is nice. You cant beat the location. I would prefer to stay at a nicely decorated and updated inn next time and pay way more in this town than $170/night. I think we ended up booking this place because there was nothing else available by the time we booked.

Avoid this hotelFormerly the Brigantine Inn was a good hotel in a nice location. Now only the location is good. The restaurant is a pub after the diner and the music plays until 2:00 am each night. The checkout is very early at 10:00am this was a very short night for more than 170CAD. f you want a good sleep look elsewhere for a room. We stayed once again in Picton room (#2) and we knew that the bathroom is very tiny, but we wanted the balcony with deckchairs overlooking the small harbour. The queen bed was very soft and the twin bed collapsed when I put my bag on it, It was no longer a bed like before, but only a wooden frame with two dirty mattresses on it. Behind it were glasses, old handkerchiefs and the dirt of years. The frame was broken. As the manager was not in the house, there was no contact person other than the young, rude people in the restaurant. They made clear every night, that the guests in the pub, who wanted to hear the loud music were more important than the hotel guests who wants to sleep. The fact that one could hear the loud air conditioning of all rooms and the restaurant in the whole hotel was almost unimportant.

Don't Let First Glance Deter You...At first glance, uncertainty sets in but is quickly displaced after check in at The Grand Banker pub downstairs. Room 2 was very large with a balcony overlooking the historic harbour, and the Fisheries Museum. This is really a boutique inn. We stayed two nights and while our arrival parking involved carrying our luggage up the village common stairs, we were able to park on the street right in front of the inn with no charge for parking overnight The village is a delight full of small shops and restaurants, but is also a nice place to stay to tour the area, including Chester, Mahone Bay and Oak Island. There is no breakfast available at this inn, but there is a coffee shop two streets up the hill which is open early

Convenient locationWe were in Lunenburg for one night on a family trip and had booked this online. The price was really reasonable, almost too good, but when we checked in I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and the staff very friendly. Many of the restaurants in the area also run boutique style hotels out of the upstairs locations, so in the style of the neighborhood check in is at the restaurant downstairs. The area was very quiet for sleeping and the location is in the middle of many other restaurants and also right on the waterfront. Would absolutely stay here again!
