    A Perfect Overnight Spa Break!

FAO The Manager Steven Brazil, Bridgewood Manor Hotel & Spa Dear Sir, Trip advisor review: An absolutely perfect Spa Break ! I am writing to highly commend your staff's behaviour and work. I booked an overnight spa break for my friend's 60th birthday. It was a fully inclusive break- including an hour's spa treatment, lunch, dinner with an allowance, an overnight stay and breakfast (£105 pp). Both of us had suffered in tragic circumstances this year so I wanted to cheer her up and I could not possibly have chosen a better venue. From the outset and throughout our stay, all of the staff were absolutely wonderful. Booking was easy and staff continually ensured that we were safe and had a fantastic experience. When we arrived (slightly early) our room was ready and having unpacked, we settled in the bar with tea and a variety of scones which were beautifully served with jam and cream -and tasted delicious. Everyone adhered to the Covid-19 rules and the service from Scott was faultless. Nothing was too much trouble. A bottle of Prosecco was included in our package and the staff had kindly arranged a card for my friend as we returned to our room to prepare for dinner. This was a really nice gesture. At dinner, the waitresses were extremely polite and cheerful. Katie, in particular, was very informative and helpful. The restaurant was busy, but she kept us appraised of the situation with our individual courses. We had a generous £28 each towards our dinner (included in our package). My friend and I both chose the steak option and suffice to say that they were both cooked to perfection - served by the chef -the best we have ever eaten! The starters and desserts were equally tasty and well presented. Unfortunately, later that evening, there was an unwelcome disturbance with an unsavoury resident- but this was very promptly and professionally addressed by the young night staff on Reception, Jack and Karl, who arranged for us to change our room. Further to this, they kindly helped us with our luggage and escorted us safely to our new room. The following morning we had an extensive breakfast- which again was delicious and organised in a completely safe way- before we attended the Spa for our treatments with Amber and Sophia. These were extremely high quality treatments. We were pleasantly surprised at the wide choice of treatments available -and again, the staff were knowledgeable, well- qualified, very personable and they kept us safe. We completed our weekend with a superb lunch, which was served in the lounge bar by staff who were very attentive. Excellent sandwiches, fish cakes and salads followed by absolutely delicious ice creams. Everywhere in the hotel was extremely clean and the staff were organised and managed the clientele to ensure everyone's safety. We cannot thank the team enough for their brilliant work in making our break so worthwhile! Their work-ethic was second to none- they worked tirelessly to accommodate everyone's needs in these difficult days of Covid-19. Hayley on reception was very helpful throughout the 2 day break. Please thank all of your staff on our behalf, particularly as we are all now entering this second lockdown. We wish you all well and hope you stay safe. In summary : Definitely worth a visit for the service, comfort, meals, spa and break ! Excellent value for money. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her special birthday treat from start to finish - we will return ! Thank you. With kind regards, Julia and Maria.

Excellent base to explore the area

We visited as part of a tour group travelling with the excellent Parry's International. The hotel was a great starting point for our 4 day tour. The staff were without exception friendly efficient and accommodating. The Covid 19 precautions made us feel safe. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean and we watched every day as the staff religiously cleaned and sanitised the public areas. We could not fault anyone that we met ... but Scott in the bar was brilliant, we have seldom seen anyone so efficient and diligent, we thought that he must be a team leader or manager, but he was not. He worked so hard, never stopped and was always aware of new arrivals in the bar or empty glasses that needed replenishing. The dining room was well managed at both breakfast and dinner ... special mention here for Tracy (so funny) and Tia (engaging) who all worked so hard to make our mealtimes enjoyable and relaxed. The staff are a real credit to the hotel!

Very Dissapointing on our recent visit.

Sent this as a email to the General Manager of the Hotel but unforuanalty he has decided to ignore it. I thought on this occasion I would give him the opportunity to respond to our issues without using Trip Advisor but has failed to reply to us. Dear Mr Brazil, Me and my wife have just returned from a couples spa retreat stay at Bridgewood Manor Hotel, (26-10-20) We booked this due to an email we received from the Hotel back in August from Bridgewood Manor, offering a 50 minutes spa or 2 x 25 minutes treatments per person along with afternoon tea. We arrived early due to the Afternoon tea being booked for 1pm. two The receptionist who greeted us told me we had been given an upgraded room as we had stayed twice before at the Hotel. A lovely start I must admit, as we were celebrating our 25th wedding Anniversary. We started with the afternoon tea experience, the tea when arrived was very disappointing, dry sandwiches in thick bread, and tuna and sweet corn really! The two.scones were tiny accompanied by huge bowls of cream and jam which would of been amble for half a dozen scones !!! The tiny cakes were awful. We later found out we should have also been given a glass of prosecco and a drink upon arrival as stated in the deal that the Hotel had previously emailed us with. My wife had also emailed twice for conformation of 3pm spa treatments, but never received a reply. When we arrived at the Spa we were told the treatments we requested have now been moved to 3:30pm. When the spa receptionist asked what treatments we wanted and I replied "the fit for business", as we have alawys had on previous visits and we were then told we was only entitled to 25 minute treatment each, or only one of us could have a 50 minute treatment!! Who goes on a couples spa and only one of you receive a treatment? The receptionist in the spa showed us the treatments we could have and then suggested as we had requested a "fit for business" would could have a back and shoulders massage, which we agreed too. I must say they were the worst treatments we had received in all the years we had stayed in Q Hotels! ( I am aware Bridgewood Manor is no longer part of this chain) I can honestly say it was so intense It was painful and also cut short in terms of time. ( 20 minutes) At no time was we offered water which is usually the normal thing to offer you at the end of your treatment!. we found the whole Spa experience disappointing and the therapists unprofessional. Now to dinning experience. First we were booked for 19:00 which was confirmed upon arrival only to be contacted in our room and was asked if we could change it to 20:00 because the Hotel was dealing with a tour of people that had arrived. I refused because we were hungry but did agree to moving it to 15 minutes later. Now the quality of the food. My Gourmet burger was so dry and bland, and my wife's choice of the Chicken seasoned with Garlic and Herb had absolutely no flavour and arrived dripping in oil. All in all such a disappointing visit on this occasion to the two previous visits to your Hotel. On a positive I can only say your staff apart from Spa employees were professional at all times. Regards Del Beswick & Jackie Beswick

So well looked-after by Debs and her team.

Just returned from facilitating a 4-day training event at Bridgewood Manor. These are difficult times with COVID-19 restrictions. However the measures in place at the venue meant we and the delegates felt completely safe throughout the event. Debs and her team did everything to make us feel well-looked after. She was always available to attend to all our needs. Indeed she gave us such a feeling of being really well cared-for. Debs' attention to detail, acting ahead of all our needs and responding swiftly to our requirements created a first-class experience . We recognise and appreciate all that Debs and the team did to make our training event comfortable, smooth and enjoyable.

    Excellent Location

We visited this hotel as part of a coach tour. It was a great location for the tour and we were very pleased with the Covid 19 precautions in place. The rooms were comfortable but a little in need of some updating. I cannot fault the staff in any way, they were all friendly, helpful and welcoming. I must single out Tracey, a server in the dining room. She was really pleasant and light hearted. The food was good and the buffet breakfast ran very well despite the restrictions. All in all, a very pleasant stay under difficult conditions.
