Good place to stop on way up to north Door CountyWe had a good stay on our way up to northern door county. It is a little dated but most locations in Door County are and retain that "old school" charm. It was clean and that's what mattered to us. Staff at front desk was pleasant and helpful. Covid protocols were in place. We opted for a regular king room instead of suite as we were only staying one night. We were placed on the 3rd floor so had a good view of the bay. I appreciated that there were two comfortable chairs to sit in instead of the usual one chair in most hotels. Also a mini fridge/microwave/coffee bar. Price was fair. I do have an issue with the fact that most hotels only put 2 full size towels in guests rooms. Most women I know use 2 towels (one hair/one body) when they shower so with a couple one short. I realize you can request more but never think of it until too late. Would recommend this place for a jumping off point if going further north.

Called a jerk by employeeI went outside early in the morning and what looked like an employee asked me to swipe my card to let her in. Following the security guidelines I did not let the person in. When I walked inside I apologized to the employee and said I was sorry and she crudely said No youre not, jerk. Imagine that, a hotel employee asking me to break security measures in place to keep guests safe. The rest of our stay here was nice but BETH has ruined our impression of our 3 night stay here.

A great place by a great bayStayed 3 nites at Bridgeport Resort. Friendly staff. Followed COVID-19 protocols. Very personable & accommodating - answered a number of our questions and gave a few ideas on what to see. Easy access to get to other places in Door County. Nice indoor pool area. We would definitely stay there again.

Horrible noise from upstairsThe location is very good. However, I had a horrible experience because it was a lot of noise from the 2nd floor right above me. Someone was running and jumping that literally there were moments that the furniture in my room shook. It was the same situation both evenings that I was there. I complained multiple times to the front desk, but with no success, the noise continued on. I spoke to a manager (Mandy, not sure if a spelling is correct) in the morning before I left and she was not really feeling sorry for me, said the a family with 3 kids that was staying above me have their rights and "a baby was walking". When I asked for some kind of discount for my ruined stay , which I think I was in title to, she refused. So be aware, request top floor if you decide to stay here. I will look for a room elsewhere in the future.

Great u til checkout timeThe stay was more than ok before checkout !I have a Previous review here about an issue I had with a roofing project that was going on, and had recieved a certificate for my troubles. COVID came about last year and everything was closed down. Despite this we were able to come and stay in May of 2020 and October of 2020 but could not use certificates because of prime time, we understood this and knew we could use in 2021. We always , for most if our stats would stay in a 2 bedroom waterfront suite no matter what time of year, and this is what we were in when we recieved a certificate for a 2 night stay complimentary. You would think it would be for the same room type right? Nope....our dog passed and we decided to get away to mourn his death away from home and use the certificate. Reserved 3 nights in our favorite room type knowing we would have to pay for one night....now heres the tricky part....I got charged 200.00 including 2 nights comp . For a 3 night stay. I called regarding this charge and was told this was an up charge because the certificate value was For a king suite (meaning a hotel room which I never stay in) as opposed to the price of the room which was best avaiable rate of 180 a night..huh? Bait and switch and way too expensive for comp and a one night stay in the middle of winter? Have never ever paid that much off season! Better communication Was needed, at reservation time or at check in time, and I was told by Mindy that she was ok with this when I said I was done being a customer for 11 years! 2 times a year plus all kinds of referrals to the property! Im so saddened that we are no longer valued as a customer! All I wanted was a decent and reasonable explanation as to why it was so much! The pool was closed for renovations, the fireplace didnt work on the night we paid, and 2 coffee pots did not work properly. A long black hair (hubby and I are both gray) was left on the back of the toilet and the room walls had cracks therefore the door to the master bedroom did not close all of the way. I try to be understanding about some things....but our years of staying here are done, we have witnessed the decline of this property and with vrbo rentals (much cheaper) and other properties in the area, also in the water I would recommend you look elsewhere. This again is coming from an 11 year old customer that was told the property is okay with me never coming back! P.S. I have many years in the hospitality industry and I would have been fired on the spot had I treated guests like this....not once....but twice...later Bridgeport resort! Wishing you well!
