Would never stay or recommend this place

The picture on Tripadvisor for Brick House Inn is NOT what the Brick House Inn really looks like. It is in a residential neighborhood and is not this 2 story house shown. We paid 207.00 a night and stayed Friday night and left at 8am Saturday morning. There was sewage coming up the drain from the bath tub/shower and it made me sick. We showed the Inn Keeper at 8am when she got there, and told us not to make us breakfast because we were leaving and showed her the sewage filling up the tub/shower. We left without showers or breakfast and the owner would only give us back 1 day stay because she said we stayed there on Friday night even though we could not use the shower/tub, unless we wanted to stand in sewage. Bonnie the owner called us back after a email and a voice mail was left for her and she said go ahead and leave us a bad review, I don't know what to say except I'm sorry. We will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. The Washington Room was a converted garage with painted block walls. NOT worth 207.00 a night and we booked through bedandbreakfast.com. We will never do that again.

    Not as advertised!

This B&B is not at all what is pictured here. It is a small brick cape several streets off the quaint neighborhoods in Williamsburg. I was greeted with an envelope taped to the storm door with the key and a note asking me to call a number. As a single traveler, I didn't feel safe with this arrangement. Now that I see this dishonest picture, I'd really like my money back, but I doubt that will happen. Don't stay here.

    Not Living Up to Expectation

We chose to stay in the Washington room for our 5th wedding anniversary. While the room was cute, clean, and conveniently close to the downtown area, the experience was lacking and we feel we ultimately would have gotten more bang for our buck at a hotel. For starters, many of the amenities promised on the booking website were either missing or haphazardly thrown together. No one was present to greet us when we arrived, and we instead found our key in an envelope taped to the front door with a note indicating when breakfast was and an emergency contact. The booking implied breakfast would be more flexible and even available for in room eating. Breakfast was reheated store-bought quiche and muffins, which the hostess couldn't even identify the flavors of when asked. The hostess in question was only in the house long enough to heat the food and left before my husband came out of the room 10 minutes after breakfast was served. Apparently the house is for sale, and it appears the real estate agent is poorly attempting to continue the business while the house is on the market. The online listing indicates the room we stayed in is currently being rented for a monthly rate of 3 times what we paid for one night. We recommend looking elsewhere if you want the B&B experience with a good, filling breakfast.

    Excellent

This is an excellent option for a quiet, cute place to stay within a short walk to the historic area. The rooms are all with keeping of the colonial Virginia theme. It definitely sets the mood. Our host, William was an excellent host. He took our breakfast preference and was an outstanding cook. He was outstanding and professional. He was also full of information about the area's restaurants and attractions. I have stayed in several B&B's around and this was by far on the top of the list! Thanks Brickhouse Inn!!

    Great for several reasons

I stayed two nights, for W & M Family Weekend. My room was cute, VERY clean and neat, quite and convenient to Colonial Williamsburg and William and Mary. And the breakfast?? WOW! William the Breakfast Man is fantastic, charming, funny and full of information about almost anything you could ever think to ask about Williamsburg. During breakfast on my first morning there, he checked with all of the guests, and planned the next morning's breakfast, based on what we liked and thought sounded good. He's terrific. How serious am I about this review? I am about to make a reservation for later this week.
