  Look past the decor and enjoy wonderful customer service

  Yes the Brentwood Hotel is a tired old building and could do with a major facelift, but if you look past this you will find the rooms clean and tidy. The team are very helpful and courteous and the restaurant meals although limited selection are beautifully cooked and presented. Well done to all, you made our week pleasant.

  Customer Experience at its best

  Following a disaster experience with Bluebridge Ferries (that will get its own special review!!) and being stuck with 2 dogs and no place to go at 1.00am the team at Brentwood turned the night around from totally infuriating to complete relief. Knowing my situation they bent over backward to roll out the red carpet and welcome us and assist with whatever i needed - they were amazing. Although the hotel is a little dated it is very clean, had both internal and external access from the room which was perfect with having dogs. They offered a room service breakfast that was a decent size and had all the trimmings (and I've eaten a few breakfasts!). As a frequent business traveler its proximity to the airport is ideal and easy drive to the ferry (when it actually departs!) Any dog owner knows it can be challenging finding a decent place to say so this was an awesome find.

  Conference

  Comfy bed,lovely fresh linen, good price for room, a touch of paint, especially by the fridge could be an improvement, lovely evening meal, nice breakfast, great having courtesy van for airport, enjoyed my stay

  Tough As

  Hotel was great, good sized rooms. The restaurant was disgusting. I ordered a steak-rare. I when I cut it in half it was barely pink. It was sent back, the chef sent a message back with the waiter stating that it was rare. The steak was so tough I struggled to put a fork into it. The waiter asked what I wanted and a asked for a small piece of lamb instead. I tol him the vegetables were very good. About 10 minutes later my plate came back. It was cold as were the vegetables that I hadnt finished. Also on the plate was the steak with a small piece of lamb. With that I walked out.

  Noisy and tired

  Stayed in the executive suite for one night. Got a great deal on accommodation and check in was easy. Also receptionist rang and booked us into the restaurant. Really good friendly service. After changing went back downstairs to the restuarant. Limited options on the menu but really do we need so many choices. They did have all basics covered. However when it came to the bar as a rum drinker it was very disappointing with coruba being the only option. Once again good friendly service. As for the suite it was very tired to say the least. Also it is at the top of the stairs and the noise from people going up and down was very noticeable. Great location as visited son in hospital which is only 10 minutes away. Also plenty of onsite car parking. The suite could certainly do with a visit from a handyman for a few hours. At least one of the dining chairs has a broken leg. The remote for the aircon is broken and the plugs for the hand basins do not release. Sadly the Brentwood is no longer the modern hotel that it could so easily be.
