  Great place - we stayed here for the third time. Great food, very friendly and kind staff, good wellness area. Two nice "open" saunas with a great view on the valley. My recommendation: book a suite in the new building with panorama view on the valley. so peaceful!

  Lovely wellness hotel

  I spent 2 nights at this lovely hotel during my birthday (They have special rates if your birthday is during your stay). There was a birthday cake waiting for me in the room and they made a lot of effort with the table decorations at our table that evening. The staff are all very friendly and there are walks to do right across the road. Our room in the newer part was very quiet and had a balcony with gorgeous views of the hills and forest. No double beds- just 2 beds together and no kettle but that seems to be normal in the Black Forest area. Black out curtains would be good- it's quite light in the morning. The spa area was big- and not so busy. The 2 saunas had huge windows with lovely views. There was a lot of snow outside so guests were able to go outside and roll in the snow after their sauna... There were plenty of lounge chairs to lie in , in the quiet rooms. We were there for the opening of the worlld's 2nd biggest snow labyrinth. It was 5 minute's drive away and I also walked to it the next day- about 30 minutes around a hill (a marked footpath)

  Wellness hotel in a beautiful area

  We spent three nights at this charming hotel. The wellness area is nice with two saunas with a view. The rooms was very nice (in the new building), clean and spacious. The view from our balcony was spectacular. The restaurant is old style and charming. The food was outstanding. Excellent breakfast buffet, very nice lunch buffet and gourmet dining in the evening. The staff was very nice and accommodating. We have a good time in this beautiful area, hiking and biking each day followed by a relaxing sauna. A place to relax and reload you batteries.

  Would not recommend, too noisy and the food isn't good.

  I would not recommend this hotel for several reasons. The primary reason is that the hotel is located on a street that has a lot of traffic on it. In nice weather, there is the constant sound of cars, motorcycles and even tractors. My room overlooked the garden, which means it basically overlooked the street and the kitchen of the dining room (photo of my view attached). I couldn't sleep due to the noise. Even in the spa area that is located on the other side of the building, you could hear the street noise when outside. Secondly, the food in the restaurant is very disappointing. The food was presented nicely, but every meal without exception was mediocre at best. Lunch was not worth the effort of driving back to the hotel for as it was boring and tasteless. Breakfast was the best meal, but even it was average. I finally left the hotel a day earlier than planned, even though it was prepaid and non-refundable, because I simply couldn't stand another sleepless night with the street noise or another meal in the restaurant. Definitely would not recommend this hotel.

  Simply the best

  I stayed here with my other half some time ago and we are still dreaming about coming back. We travelled from London for a nice couple of days in the Black Forest. We could not have been happier! Wonderful people, amazing food, comfy beds, and stunning surroundings. There was plenty of scar parking space as well. The Spa was fantastic. There is no better start to the day than a quick dip in the pool followed by a wonderful breakfast. The reception staff is very knowledgeable and we were very grateful we could speak English with a lovely lady called Cornelia. The lunch options were just what we needed after a hike.Nicely filled up on food and delicious cakes we retired to our room. We stayed in the modern part overlooking the flower field which was just stunning. Next time we want to stay in the original building as it just looks charming. Dinner was just delicious. We would have eaten it all over again if only our stomachs were bigger! Thank you for a wonderful and memorable stay. Our batteries are fully charged and we can start 2020 full of energy. If I could leave a better score, I would!
