    Family Style Hotel

I rate this as a respectable three-star property. It is showing its age a bit - some internal fittings show wear and tear, notably carpets. Wifi I found weak and slow, but this may reflect a particular room location. There is quite a lot of noise from the railway line outside. Breakfast is 85% Japanese - not many Western choices. Staff speak limited English. But you will get a good sense of local hospitality. There is a spa, somewhat overpriced. I'm not sure that this place really qualifies to be called a resort.

    Lower your expectations!

The name of this hotel is very deceiving. While we found it clean and the the people at the front desk to be nice, it is not a resort and is a two star hotel at best. I would equate it honestly to a Comfort Inn. The hotel is very dated Circa 1960s! You should expect to take your bags up to your room yourself, and expect to pay for the use of the pool, if even available. It is unfair to say this Hotel actually has a pool and even more unfair to say it is a resort!

    Good value

We paid about $100 for a one night stay prior to our cruise departing from Yokohama. This hotel is within walking distance (maybe a kilometre) from the cruise port. If you are coming from Narita airport you take the high speed train and then one subway stop and about a 3 block walk to get to it. This is a clean and neat hotel. We didn't use any of the amenities. Breakfast is not included. My one complaint is that there was not a word of English anywhere in the room. The safety instructions, the guide to the hotel, the instructions on how to use the air conditioner, television, even the fancy Japanese style toilet were all in Japanese and only in Japanese. We were able to figure out how to use the a/c only by using Google Translate. A hotel that advertises on English language websites should be bi-lingual in my opinion.

    Not Impressed

Had two rooms for the family to watch World Cup. I was realistic about expectations versus price, but still found This place missed the mark. The location is good, close to a JR station, and the restaurants and night life around the hotel are great. We asked for a non smoking room, but as soon as we walked into the room, it smelt like a cigar room, I asked if there was another room, but of course there wasnt. The television in our room didnt work, and we couldnt watch any of the games on the television, so had to use the other room, which was pretty cramped. Hotel is pretty run down, and rooms in need of a lot of attention. Staff were friendly, and gave us good recommendations on local activities and were able to do so in English, which was good. Some work to be done.

    Great Location, Prices & Rooms

The reality is that there are many hotels in Japan that are priced in this range (Except Saturdays - Much higher) with similar amenities. Location wise, its proximity a few minutes walk to JR station and to Minato Mirai are fantastic. The term "resort" is a stretch by most standards but the rooms are very nice, average by Japanese standards and offer what you would expect from most hotels. Mid-week prices are a bargain for what you receive. Food and entertainment for all ages are walking distance, including some of the nicest malls in Landmark and Queens Malls... Akarenga is also a great shopping mall for the unusual...If you take the right train, Tokyo and Shibuya are within 30 minutes by train. If you are expecting a "resort" you'll be hard pressed to find one on Metro Tokyo/Yokohama... If you are looking for a nice hotel with great transport access, this will fit the bill...Nicely. I have probably spent several hundred nights in Japan over the past decades, and this one is definitely top 10 - 20% in its class for value and location. It will put to shame what most top cities in the world will provide for $60 - $80 per night mid-week...In NYC, I'd probably pay $250 for the same... Many complaints address "smoking rooms" don't expect to ever reserve a smoking room because its cheaper with the hope of transferring to a "non-smoking " room at check in... Won't happen! Rooms are Japanese or European sized, but the amenities and hotel in general will blow them away.
