Great location and gardensArrived and was given a room that was not expected, so raised this with reception and they moved us to a room that I was expecting, so happy with reception staff. Apart from that little hassle, the rest of the stay was great. Very neat ground with well maintained paths. Easy access to the beach and the pools were well maintained. The spas were not turned on (blamed covid) so that was unfortunate. The room we stayed it was not serviced during the stay (as expected) and they provided locked cupboards in central locations for us to obtain towels, washing soap or whatever when we needed.... nice idea I've not seen before.

Outdated and horrible service. Pools ok.For the price this is horrible. Reception rude and unhelpful, both at check in and if trying to order in food. Hotel is outdated, run down as are staff. Nothing near by for food /coffee with hotel food dodgy looking at best. Pools ok for kids, but would not come back.

So sorry, butGood morning, I not usually one to complain, but, this time I feel it is more than justified. A couple of years ago I had pleasure of staying a few days at your Aanuka Resort, Coffs Harbour and I promised my wife I would take here there for a break, because it was such a great spot. How disappointing it has been. Booking in on Friday 12th March, we were advised that due to issues with electrical circuit boards that restaurant was not open, however, we were welcome to order bar snacks and consume with our drinks. So we ventured to bar and had a drink each, before retiring to our room(95a) for a shower and change of clothes. Returning to bar, we were then informed that.....no there was no snacks, nor could they serve us drinks as all systems were down. We would have to make other arrangements. Proceeding to reception, I personally witnessed staff, booking in customers only to tell them upon completion of booking that there was no bar or meal service available at the resort. Customers should have been advised before booking in of the situation. Saturday morning, only a continental breakfast was available......not good enough. Saturday afternoon, after a nice day out in and around Coffs Harbour, returned to Aanuka, looking forward to a nice meal at Casays and a couple of quiet drinks in the beautiful surrounds. SURPRISE, SURPRISE......no restaurant again. I have travelled for work and leisure all over Australia stayed in some wonderful places and some not so wonderful places, Mantra, has always been a name synonymous with quality service. Unfortunately the staff at Aanuka, were rude, abrupt and most unhelpful. What was supposed to be a nice weekend away with my wife, will live in my memory as one of our less than satisfying getaways. I will use Mantra resorts again, but, certainly not Aanuka. A $600 experience in poor service. Speaking to other guests, we are not the only ones who are disappointed. Regards

Friendly staffVery friendly and informative staff. Great location and grounds are kept in superb condition. Very quiet and peaceful. Wonderful place to holiday away from the hustle and bustle but close to the CBD. Great place for couples to unwind and still all the amenities for the kids. Main pool was beautiful but spa was closed during our stay.

The hits were as big as the misses! So many positives but equally as many disappointments. Let's start with the positives - the food at the restaurant was nothing short of amazing! Having traveled and dined extensively, I class the restaurant as mid priced but the taste as fine dining. We ordered every item on the menu over a few days. The worst I can say is the sweet potato was fine - every thing else was to die for! The location is beautiful, the views are gorgeous and the accommodation is full of tropical vegetation and all creatures great and small (lizards, possums and bush turkeys). Great facilities - tennis courts, pools, play grounds! In terms of the misses - the reception staff were a mixed bag - some amazing, could not be more helpful or friendly. Others off hand, could not be bothered and verging on rude. Also, the place is very large and could be considered a maze - you are required to transport all luggage, shopping etc yourself. In all honesty it was super disappointing - my friend was carrying 5 grocery bags, 2 bottles of alcohol and a slab of soft drinks up a hill. Several groundsmen on buggies said hi as they drove past but no-one offered to help. Whilst they do have a few luggage trolleys at reception, I cant even think how anyone who was elderly or with mobility issues would cope. We were a young, fit group and felt we had a real workout getting luggage etc to and from rooms. Our room looked out over a construction zone (not a great incentive to sit on the balcony). Also, whilst we had air con in the living room, there was none in the bedroom which was very hot. One real issue (probably a once off) was there was a blackout which meant no electricity for the restaurant and no wifi. There was absolutely no warning on check in, no apologies, no alternative solutions offered. When inquiring about buying a drink (even a bottle of water) at reception, we were given a very curt response that there were shops only five minutes away. Finally and probably most importantly, two of the kids in our group got swept out in a rip. Unbelievably we found out it was a notorious beach and there were absolutely no signs or warnings.
