  Great Time family trip

  Just back from our 3 day stay in Castlebar and I could not recommend the hotel highly enough for families. From the Fairy Forest to the play grounds and forest walks there are plenty to do in between our day trips to Westport etc. Staff are a credit to the Hotel and could not have been more helpful. There was a bit of confusion with our pre booked slots for the swimming pool so I do recommend booking times well in advance and confirming with the leisure centre. Food was lovely, breakfast well run and not over crowded. Tip just be organised and ensure your dinner and breakfast times are booked in advance and your swimming times

  Great self catering holiday

  We stayed for a week in the Residences self catering apartments at Breaffy Woods Hotel at the end of August. Apartment was very spacious and spotlessly clean. Some nice touches with the welcome pack on arrival. We booked the pool slots in advance - 45 min slot was just right and you could see the obvious effort to clean the changing areas between slots. In fact sanitising in general was obvious throughout the Woods Hotel & House Resort. While Castlebar itself is pretty unspectacular, we used it as a base to explore further afield..... Westport, Achill, Enniscrone, Belmullet, Céide Fields. Breaffy Woods Residences is a 3 star accommodation with access to 4 star facilities. Perfect self catering option for families. Can't praise the hotel and staff enough.

  August 2020 Summer staycation

  Stayed in family room. a bit dated and very warm and stuffy. only small window for air which is not good with C19 for air circulation. staff at reception on check in not very friendly . Breakfast was busy and Social distasncing was a bit of effort at peak mornign times. Staff did their best , all very young - probally summer students and some good and others need more motivation !!! Dinner was good and very tasty from the eve meal we had for all and very helpful staff. The bad - the pool use an dbookings is a joke. Tried to book various slots days in advance of our arrival and nothing and had to rely on cancellations . Only used pool once , a late eve cancellation which we were lucky to be back for . Serously need to look at how they are doing this !!!! tip do the cycle on the Green way around Westport and Newport and if have time do a trip to Achill , its wonderful place and go to keem beach

  Don't stay here full off drug dealers and escorts

  Stayed here seen drug dealing going. On out side gym and prostitutes at the back of the hotel I complain to the hotel manager he did not want to listen he said it's nothing to do with them but he knows what is going on the guard don't want to know as well they turned a blind eye there is transvestite prostitutes at the back of the hotel which is not good if you have young children

  Really helped us

  Due to a difficult set of circumstances we needed major help when we arrived at the hotel to check in. Long story short, thanks to Noel and to Wilson for going well out of their way to help us get booked in. Sometimes it just takes a little out of the box thinking to sort a problem and these chaps showed this can be done. Big giant thanks to you both for making our visit to Mayo a big success when it might have gone the other way.
