  A very restful stay

  Stayed here between Christmas and New Year to avail of nearby skiing. Could not find a single fault with our stay (other than the pillows!) Breakfast is scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, hams, cheeses, cereal, fruit, yogurt, OJ, Water, Tea & Coffee. Dinner is a buffet starter, mains are from a menu with a choice of 3 which choose the night before and desert is standard. All the dishes we had were of a very high standard. The ski bus stops right outside the hotel. There is a shed for skis, poles and boots - with a boot warmer. There is parking just outside the hotel. The bedrooms are a good size. We had a lovely big balcony. Fabulous huge shower. If I could find any criticism it would be that the pillows need to be replaced - they do not provide adequate support. The hotel has a sauna, steam room and solarium with a relaxation area. Swim wear are NOT permitted. Children are allowed accompanied by an adult. The bar is quite small and pretty much empty most times. The staff are all very friendly. Would I go back ? Definitely.

  Not ski in, ski out. Location top of hill.

  Mixed feelings. Personally, for skiers in Kirchberg/Kitz most hotels are not skiin/skiout. For families with children count on the expense of a taxi to and from the slopes. I think Kirchberg is a better location to get to the ski slopes and the bus runs frequently before 10 am and after 3pm. In between those hours the bus service is terrible and unreliable. The gasthof brauwirt has a central location a 10 minute uphill walk from two bus stops. For adults the walk is easy, but remember to rent you skis and boots from one of the shops near the bus stops that also provide overnight storage. Rudi's was fine. The hotel is nicely renovated. Fairly large rooms, Comfortable beds, modern bathrooms (ours had shower and tub). Ski storage short walk from main building. Wi-fi is available at $3 a day, but is lousy, slow service: management should improve wi-fi is they are going to charge hefty fees. Very nice sauna and steam room and relaxation area. Staff pleasant and helpful. Dining room staff friendly and helpful. Sadly, evening meal was usually awful;one decent dinner out of six.Lots of smoking in the indoor bar, which then wafts into the dining rooms and the common areas. If there is an Austrian on-smoking law it is not enforced in the brauwirt, and the offenders seemed to be management and kitchen staff. So, if second hand smoke annoys you you should avoid this hotel. Skier tip: unlike the USA, in Austria the chair restraint bar is a weapon. As you sit down, someone will rapidly swing the restraint bar down, even it it hits you head. No acknowledgement that other people are on the chair. After this happened when I sat down on the chair I immediately grabbed the bar to keep it from being pulled down, checked that everyone in my party was settled and then slowly let the bar down. The Austrians were uniformly shocked at this courtesy. And as you unload from the chair someone will always cut across your path. I found the skiers at Kirchberg/Kitz remarkably rude and discourteous. Austrian charm, not..

  Very bad restaurant

  The portions were very small. No vegetables and only a very simple salad. Only some green leaves. Price quality is very bad! Dont order the zanderfilet. Only 2 small pieces of fish. Serving is slow. Restaurant is . Zwiebelrostbraten is ok but also no vegetables. We ordered fries but got potatos.

  We had a great time at Braeuwirt the service and food was outstanding and very fresh we loved the fact that all the ingredients and meat comes from local biofarms!! Place must to do go if u are in Kirchberg!

  Typical Alpine Hotel

  Nice family run hotel in Kirchberg. Just a few minute walk to the center of town. The hotel is a typical Tirol Alpine accommodation. Its not fancy, but it has everything you need and is very clean. There is a bus that takes you to the gondola across from the hotel.
