Great place to stay in Charleston! We spent one night at the Brass Pineapple on our way to North Carolina. It's in a lovely location in a historic district. It's a quick walk to the Capitol and some restaurants. The proprietor, Lisa, is simply delightful! She cooks and bakes with a healthy slant and everything is delicious! She uses local market veggies and meats and has available baked goods in the afternoon and evening for our pleasure. Different and delicious! Lisa is a talker and frankly should write a book about her life. We learned so much about the house (so interesting) and her own life. Lisa recommended the Bluegrass Kitchen for dinner, which is a quick walk from the inn. We LOVED this place and the food was amazing! A bit avantgarde which we loved. The only drawback at the inn was the TV. We stayed in the English Gentleman's Room which has a very small portable TV with a not-so-great picture. Other than that, we would definitely stay with Lisa again!

Inn Keeper Makes it Great!Sweet B&B in a super convenient area. Lisa, the inn keeper, attends to every detail. Food is amazingly healthy, most items organic and prepared from scratch. Snacks and teas, etc available throughout the stay. Several GF options always on hand. A stay at this inn is a memory maker.

Pricey for value. Our rooms were on the 2nd floor with no lift. Too much effort to get the luggage up the stairs to our rooms. Clutter just isnt our thing. Kitchen so disorganized that there was a concern about cleanliness & food safety. Possibly a fun experience for some but a bit too much for us. Cant recommend.

Comfy, period-authentic, delicious food, great host! The Brass Pineapple was a very comfortable, very cute BnB just steps away from the WV Capitol rotunda, the Kanawha river, and about a mile from downtown Charleston. The host, Lisa, was very kind and accommodating of my late arrival. Lisa also offered me some blueberry cake that looked scrumptious upon arrival, which I thought was a sweet gesture as well. Breakfast the next morning was delicious, with farm fresh food (the onions in my omelette were particularly brilliant) cooked by Lisa, the host. I can't say enough great things about my stay, from the meticulously restored house (Lisa explained that the house was built during the transitional period between Victorian and Arts and Crafts styles, incorporating elements of both in a very elegant way), to the wonderful interior decorating and attention to detail (The fixtures!), to the spacious porch and secure parking lot in the backyard - this is a gem of an Inn and If i find myself in Charleston WV once again, i will gladly stay at the Brass Pineapple again!

Everything You Would Imagine A Bed & Breakfast To Be And MoreMy wife and I spent a few days in West Virginia recently looking at homes so on our second night we were looking for a place to stay in Charleston and I came across the Brass Pineapple Inn. Saw that the reviews were very good so I booked. So glad we did!! If you are looking for that traditional B&B that you see in movies than THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!! The minute you walk in you are greeted by Lisa. If you have read reviews then you know Lisa is what makes this place tick, and the reviews are right on point. What can I say she is amazing! Runs everything, gets you setup, gives you tips on local areas to stop, eat, and visit. She just does it all! Our room was on the second floor and it was a nice cozy room. Reminded my wife and I both of times we have gone back east to visit family. What I didn't catch on the website was that Lisa makes you breakfast the next morning. She asked us both when we checked in what we liked, what time we wanted it and told us she would have it ready. My wife and I are both early risers so when we cracked the door to our room open at 5:55am the next morning this unbelievable whiff of an old fashioned breakfast they way mom used to make it had carried itself into our hallway (Check out the pics). We were the first ones down stairs and she had everything ready for us, and wow was it delicious. As I said just like the old days at home. The great part is Lisa hung out with us and chatted with us for at least 30 minutes. Told us a lot about West Virginia, the history of the house, and we honestly loved her company so much we just all kept finding things to talk about. These days it is so hard to find a place that really hits 5 stars on every point. If you are looking for a B&B or just a great place to stay in general than take my advice and book with the Brass Pineapple. The house is so cozy, everything is clean, and the hospitality from Lisa is second to none. Not to mention she is just a wonderful person!! Thank you Lisa for the great conversation, and thank you for making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. Next time in the are you just know we will be back. NOTICE- For all of you that are Covid-19 conscious with everything going on I just wanted to also point out that this B&B is very clean, and practicing Covid-19 safety as Lisa does a phenomenal job of keeping sanitizer around and making sure everyone has clean silverware, glasses, and everything needed to stay safe.
