  Excellent service, great food, perfect pool and wellness

  Clean, friendly, reasonable value with fantastic natural swimming pool and wellness centre. The service from the family running this hotel is exceptional. Positives: - Varied 4 course evening meals with fresh ingredients and local recipes - guided walk of nearby mountains by one of the family members conducted 2 times in the week we stayed - pool and wellness area - cleanliness - free parking and wifi - extremely friendly and helpful staff - perfectly preserved historical ex- family building No real negatives. Just minor inconvenience that WLAN signal didn't reach our bedroom (due to solid stone walls) and our room had no safe (which the hotel solved by letting us use the office safe). Highly recommended.

  Familiarity, elegance, quality and quiet

  We had a very beautiful stay at this hotel: quiet, beautiful location (strategic for trekking and sightseeing), comfortable rooms, and in general very appreciated attention for details. Also, our congratulations for the high quality of dinners: excellent food and perfect presentation with beautiful tableware!   A treat for the tastebuds

  My review here is purely for the restaurant where I had dinner with a colleague of mine. The restaurant serves a very limited spread of Austrian cuisine (Tirolean) which I think is good. The restaurant can then focus on the quality of the food served. I ordered for a pumpkin soup & a sirloine steak and my colleague ordered another variety of soup along with a grilled duck. It was served within a reasonable time and we didn't have to wait for long between our soup and the main course. The serving of the food was quite sufficient and was filling indeed. The taste of the food was very good and the soup which I had was very delicious. Never had anything like this before. The steak too was very delicious. I asked for the steak to be well made and it was just perfect. Not too hard not too soft. In short the food was simply great. The hosts were very courteous and always smiling. This can definitely add to a customers delight and leave with a positive experience. The prices would depend from person to person. I felt it was a little expensive but again this I wouldn't mind it with the quality of food served. Lastly the ambience was very good. Very hygienic and well decorated. Would definitely suggest this place and personally will go back again

  A welcome break

  Having had a lot of Spätzle this was an unexpected welcome diversion into haute village cousine. We set in the old comfortable Stube that was a throwback to the family rooms of the old farm houses, elegantly set for a formal evening meal. Going with two teenagers we were sticking out a bit from the subdued whispers of conversation but in our opinion we were livening up the bit stale atmosphere. Anticipating this the manager first tried to sit us in the main dining room but then succumbed and offered us a table in the little Stube. The staff were patient, providing English menus for the kids and answering the many questions. All over we had a great dinner that went beyond the usual Austrian fair, serving a beautiful raw slices of "Lachs Forelle" with a delightful, I believe elderberry infused foam. My stag liver was exquisite and the kids enjoyed their meals too.

  Quirky

  We were just staying one night on business after the ski season had finished. As a result we were the only people staying here. Didnt have the greatest of starts in that when we arrived we could not find anyone to check in and I mean 20 minutes including phoning them. Anyhow, as I said it was out of season and a family run business and also thereafter the experience was excellent. Its a beautiful old building on the inside, in fact far more so than the outside, in a very beautiful little village. The room itself was well equipped and spacious and the bed was amazingly comfortable. The restaurant is supposed to be first class but closed on a Wednesday. The breakfast however was very nice. We had a couple of drinks at the small bar. The owners dont speak great English but you can tell they are very friendly and keen to please. Fortunately they seem to have many daughters who do speak good English. The room rate is incredibly reasonable. I bet this hotel is amazing when it is in high season.
