Great as alwaysIt has been almost 2 1/2 year since we last stayed.... it was every bit as good.. a few changed but all for the good, The standard, is still very high.. and the place still looks new... our first visit was over 16 year ago.. It is still very relaxing and a great escape after lock down in Melbourne.. could have not chosen a best place. If you are looking for peace and quiet, and a bit of luxury, this is the place... we have stayed in a lot of places. but Boroka stands out, with all units giving you your own piece of country seclusion..with wonderful views and comfort

What a wonderful place! Our first trip to Halls Gap and the Grampians and we picked the right place to stay. Peaceful, private, amazing views, and kangaroos at your door. There are five residences, all distanced from each other so you are essentially 'alone'. The residences are spacious, with everything you could possibly need provided. Contactless check-in was seamless, a quick text to the hosts to let them know we had arrived (and departed later on), and we settled in for a few days rest. Boroka Downs has a Trust for Nature overlay on the property with a perpetual covenant, which protects the wildlife and the habitation on the property forever. All the landscaping around the residences was done by the owners and it's beautiful. It's a special place. Kangaroos appeared on our first day and kept us company for our stay. We saw emus and deer while we were there too. The view of national park and the mountains was imposing and perfect for sitting and just looking. Calm is how I would describe the atmosphere here. Our hosts, Bob and Stephanie, were quick to respond to our emails and texts, and very patient with re-bookings as Covid stopped us from coming until December. No question or request was too much trouble . They were the perfect hosts - and I'm not sure I've written that before in a review. Thank you both for making our stay a delight. Boroka Downs was exactly what we needed for a few days respite after a very crazy year. I can't recommend it enough.

Stunning - residence and surroundsWeve been fortunate over the years to stay in some fabulous luxury accommodation and places with superb views. Not only does Boroka provide both but we could not fault a single thing. We only stayed three nights but could have easily stayed a week. The TV was never on once as we had breakfast and dinner outside each night and just took in the views and wildlife - sitting outside we were fortunate enough to see kangaroos, wallabies, red deer, fallow deer, emus, rabbits, foxes and an abundance of bird life. On the second evening the wallabies came in to drink at the water bowl next to the residence and on our final morning a wallaby and her joey came in to graze just feet from us. There are a total of five residences but sufficiently spaced out and separated by trees and bushes so we never saw or heard a single other person. The views across to the Grampians are terrific and it was fantastic to see the array of wildlife in such a quiet and serene setting. The only noise was from the birds. And a huge bonus point - the flies never pestered us (such a rarity in Australia !) and no mossies. The residence is fantastic, well positioned and laid out with floor to ceiling windows to allow you to take in the views. It also provides every (high quality) mod con you would ever need and terrific attention to detail to make sure you are well looked after - books, guides, leaflets, local information, binoculars, brand new Nespresso machine, coffee pods, a huge selection of Australian teas, biscuits, fruit, champagne, cereals/muesli/corn flakes/sourdough for breakfast, butter, jams and honey, milk, ice etc etc etc. surround sound TV, free wifi and an electric bbq. Theres also a separate utility room with washing machine and drier. The huge spa bath was terrific, as was the fabulous and comfortable king size bed. The bathroom was huge and the shower was superb ! Loved the Sukin products. On a warm clear night we sat out in the field under the stars - pitch black and absolutely no light distortion so the skies were stunning. In the space of 45 minutes we were treated to two shooting stars and several satellites passing over ! We certainly fell in love with Boroka Downs and will definitely return this year. A final word for the owners Bob and Stephanie - communication was quick and friendly. I was also very grateful for their help when I asked for a last minute favour for my partners 50th ! Much appreciated.

Perfect!Cannot overstate how amazing this place is. As soon as we walked in, we were struck by the beautiful view and the immaculate accommodation. It was sparkling clean, and there were so many thoughtful touches that made us excited to settle into our 3 night stay. I proposed to my partner on the first night and it was perfect. Not another soul in sight, just us, the birds and the gorgeous kangaroos. You feel totally alone in nature here, even when all the rooms are occupied. There are so many fun things to do in the area but make sure you allow some time to sit in the spa and really soak up the views! Thank you Stephanie and Bob for creating such a magical place, we will be back!

Fabulous secluded spotWhat a fabulous secluded spot Boroka Downs is! Nestled on a Landcare-acknowledged property well off the highway about ten minutes from Hall's Gap, the five units are at least 100 metres apart from each other for quietness and privacy. Our unit faced across the paddocks towards the mountains and we gazed at the kangaroos, wallabies and emus that wandered past. The unit is very well appointed and thoughtfully so, with items such as local wine, jam and honey provided, along with fresh bread during our stay, and a star map and binoculars to make sense of the Milky Way that we can't see from Melbourne. And on our last day, our hosts Bob and Steph kindly let us stay a little longer while I finished a work Zoom meeting. Oh, and did I mention the silence at night? Sssshhh...
