Worst place ever!Don't be fooled - although they advertise themselves as 4* this place is 2* at best. We booked a double bed and 2 singles and got a double and a rickety old pull out couch. The room reeks of mould. We booked all inclusive. On arrival they said they have us down as full board and suggested we load one of their cards to buy extras. They rent pool towels for 5. Staff totally disinterested in resolving any issues. So disappointed.

I dont even know where to start! On the day we arrived, there was no English speaking representative to welcome us and explain the operations of the hotel. This caused confusion and concern. We could not even find our apartment as the instructions were not clear. Also, information about the services available at the hotel was not provided in English. This meant that we had no idea how to use any of the facilities. The hotel clearly advertises water sports on its website. This was never offered or even mentioned at any point during our stay. We feel we have missed out on a lot of opportunities that we would like to have experienced. When we went to the only bar in the hotel, the staff there could not explain what drinks were all inclusive. Even after producing a list of drinks that we could order we were told that certain drinks were not available on their own. For example, we could order a cocktail with gin in it. We could order tonic water, but we could not order a gin and tonic. Also, we were made to feel guilty for ordering more than one drink a day. The bar manager, who never spoke to us, would just stare at us every time we approached the bar. He would then pour the smallest drink possible and groan and roll his eyes if we asked for a normal sized drink! This is not what you expect when you are on holiday. Furthermore, the hotel was advertised as having a Childrens Pool Corner and entertainment. This is very misleading, it does not match the experience we had. The entire pool area was constantly over run with children and the childrens entertainment went on continuously. The childrens entertainment was extremely loud and intrusive and was conducted at the only bar in the hotel. We actually never used the swimming pool as the PA system would constantly have a man shouting and the children would be screaming all day long. This even continued after dinner. We were shocked to discover that every night at 9pm, whilst we would be trying to relax by the pool, the childrens entertainment would continue. A one hour performance called Baby Dance would ruin every night of our holiday. After this had finished, all of the other guests would then move to the amphitheatre for even more extremely loud childrens entertainment which would continue until 1am in the morning. This was very close to our apartment and would keep us awake. If at any time there had been adult entertainment we would have been happy to join in but as an adult couple on holiday, we felt ostracised and were often the only two people at the bar between 10pm and 11pm at which point yet more childrens entertainment would begin. The continuous childrens entertainment was so overwhelming that we often felt the need to eat our dinners at restaurants outside of the hotel. This would have been fine had the 2nd restaurant which was advertised on the website had not been closed. Before we travelled, we had asked on several occasions what would be included in the All Inclusive package. We never received a response from either the hotel or the tour operator. We used the hotel website contact form and emailed direct. On the 4th Sept, when we spoke to Rosa, our representative, we complained that we felt the hotel had been mis-sold to us. We explained that we expected an all-inclusive holiday. She explained that in Italy, all-inclusive did not necessarily mean that everything was included. She also explained that Gin was not a local drink. Although, the gin that was served at the bar was one that I knew was produced in Italy. In fact, on day two I went to the local supermarket and bought a bottle of the exact same gin. We also spoke with Rosa about how website advertised the hotel as having more than one bar and one restaurant. It clearly states that there are two restaurants in the summer months. September is a summer month and yet the beach restaurant was closed. We were also surprised to discover that the beach bar and restaurant (although owned by the hotel) was not actually part of the hotel and as such we were expected to pay for drinks. Again, Borgo Rio Favaras Advertisement clearly states that there are 2 bars at the hotel. Why then, should we have to pay for drinks whilst on an all inclusive holiday? This is false advertising. Half way through our holiday it became clear that we would need to leave the hotel if we were going to have the kind of holiday we had paid for. We checked out of Borgo Rio Favara on the 11th of Sept. As we left, no one even questioned why we were checking out early. They just said goodbye. At no time during this holiday did any member of staff inquire as to whether or not we were happy, even after making it very clear on the 4th of Sept that we were not at all happy! Worst hotel ever.

Language issueFabulous holiday, very well organised and structured. A week is enough as every day is the same but if you want to rest and relax and for the kids to be occupied this resort is perfect. The food was amazing!! As we are an Irish/Italian family we were fine, however there was little or no English spoken and I can see how frustrating this was for english speaking families. There is so much going on but if you didn't speak Italian you would be lost. They had German speaking staff too but no english.

Avoid this placeA place to avoid. If you rent an apartment nothing is included. You have to pay also for using the pool. You cannot join the breakfast even if you would pay for that. Absolutely unprofessional service. Very unfriendly people.

Spent here wonderful two weeksThank You to all stuff of this place for making our vacations really good) Unusual hotel, made as a village, only with bungalow type houses. Rooms are comfortable, big, two balconies if you have room on 1-st floor, and little garden, if you have room on parter. Clean service is good. Everyday cleaning, fresh towels. Thank you for animation team, for funny evenings and interesting events on the beach. Beach is perfect I guess. Someone can say there is little food in n restaurant, but as for me - I dont go to vacation for eating ))). Thnx to restaurant stuff for fast cleaning tables, and kitchen team for goods and especially for deserts))) - they were delicious!!! Generally one more time thanks to all Borgo Rio Favara team for excellent vacation!! If I will have possibility - I will come back here )))
