  Best value for money - above expectations

  Centrally located, nice, clean, functional, good breakfast. No-frills but fully meets (sorry, exceeds!) the expectations of a demanding business traveller like me (I see myself as very picky, a perfectionist), especially considering the price. Tried but could not find anything negative! More than full value for your money. Highly recommended for vacation/business in Dalian.

  Value hotel for stay

  We stayed here as part of a business visit. The hotel was very functional and overall comfortable. More of a functional value segment stay. The suites and rooms were nice. Meals especially breakfast in the morning was so-so. Also the layout and organization in the dining room could be improved.

  Very chinese

  This Hotel offers good Prices, but is it worthy? The offer claims A/C! But we did find only something making noise and a Little wind - definetely no cooling! My complain at the receptionist was immediatly answerd "Yes we check" ... 4 hours later - still no A/C, so I asked somebody speaking chinese to aks what the Story is. The answer: There is only A/C from .... hours to .... hours ....!!!!!! According to our experience there is no tima with any A/C! The Restaurant was sticky as well, no A/C - and it wasnt a very hot day at all! Breakfast may be fairly ok for chinese, for europeans - nothing Asking for WiFi - useless, there is None The room was very big, awful Illumination. Big bathroom, no shower - only in the bath tube but no shower curtain ....

  Ok for the price

  Reasonable priced, central and I was pleased that I could park In front easily. As usual in China in this price range you get a big room also as usual a giant hard bed, but you soon get used to the firmness. All the amenities correct as advertised. Just one small critic the shower leaked, but no problem as there was a drain in the bathroom and also a large bath with another shower so not a problem. Ask for a high room to avoid traffic noise. Wifi simple to enter and not too slow. It should be noted that every major restaurant, snack has free Wifi in most Chinese towns.

  A bolt hole in Dalian but not so foreigner friendly

  In the lobby it says it's rated 4 stars by Chinese standards and that last phrase is the key. The rooms are big, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom is big and includes a bath and you have a coffee table and two comfortable chairs. If you want to be near Xian Lu and the new shopping center "the Promenade", the Roosevelt Plaza and the Walmart then this is a good location. The counter staff were helpful when not besieged by hordes of loud demanding Chinese but only a few can communicate in English.We stayed for 6 weeks but only the housemaid made any attempt at friendliness. So Chinese! On the last day I found out they have a recreation area with pool tables, table tennis and gym equipment. There was a sign in the elevator. WiFi is OK in the morning and the usual Chinese snail's pace at night. The big negative is the breakfast - a waste of time for Westerners and made to look poor by the way the Chinese eat breakfast: taking heaped plates because it's free and then wasting or spraying it everywhere on the table and even the floor.. After a week I gave up. C;mon even a toaster for the old bread would help. I can do rice porridge but this was watery prison rations.Maybe passable for Chinese but not even 3-star standard. The hotel has about 4 people checking your room card, how about a cook to do eggs the way you like and can then eat with toast? I would also suggest more than one lounge area in the lobby but the existing one fills up with sleeping, eating, yelling and WiFi-ing Chinese so maybe that isn't a good idea after all. There is a coffee lounge on the 2nd floor I suppose. There is a way you can tell it's designed as a Chinese business hotel: there is no-one walking around in their pajamas, in fact most of the women are putting on a show with their appearance.
