More than I expectedBooked Bogemia based on reviews- keeping my expectations realistic. Although they barely speak English, it was helpful that my daughter spoke Russian. It was clean, basic amenities and average breakfast. The bathroom was a nice size. It had an air conditioner that worked well. Italian restaurant on property is average. They offer you a 10% discount if you eat at their restaurants.

Cozy rooms friendly stuffThe hotel is conveniently located and has cozy rooms. The room I stayed in had a whirlpool bathtub and a bidet, which was nice for the price I payed. What did not go well, was the internet connection. It dropped so often that it was impossible to work. In the end, I had to use the mobile 3G network, even though it was roaming. The stuff promised to look into it, but the problem never went away. The breakfast is OK. It is diverse but I did not find it tasty nor particularly healthy.

Surpassed Expectations!!!In a place like Saratov, one does not expect to see a five star ambience. In fact, I went there expecting the worst, but was pleasantly surprised at the nice, cosy hotel's ambience and decor. Nothing grand at the entrance or at the reception...just a normal businesslike reception. No bellboys here...so be prepared to lug your luggage. The keys of the rooms are the old fashioned variety..not the kind of entry cards that one has got used to. Elevator is fine. You reach the rooms...normal just about spacious rooms. Tea and coffee machine is not standard and has to be paid for separately. the bathroom is fine...a shower cubicle is convenient. The TV has russian channels and I was lucky to get a good view. A knock at the door and a housekeeping lady was there standing with a bottle of bogemia beer on complementary basis. Pleasant surprise!!! If you ask for it, they will also give you a dental kit and shaving kit!!! The restaurant on Zero floor is really nice. Has a nice cosy bar as well and has a separate entrance from the road as well. Nothing flashy...but the food is quite good. Maria and Anastasia at the restaurant were nice and deserves an applause. We tried out some vegetarian soup, pizzas, grilled chicken, pork dishes...all were good. Sad part was that they did not allow late checkout on complementary basis... Checkout was smooth. All in all...a nice hotel at Saratov.

Well situated for sightseeing. An excellent hotel if you want to explore Saratov. The hotel is situated in walking distance from hundreds of sightseeing attractions and even the Volka river if a forty-minute walk is not too much for you to handle. I would recommend doing all sight seeing by foot as you will mis too much using public transport. The rooms in the hotel have central heating and is very comfortable and clean. Not all rooms have a balcony. The rooms are also very quiet without noise from the street if you choose a room facing the courtyard. There was a wide selection for breakfast from the hotel and supper was served in the restaurant just below the hotel. The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly.
