  Hotel por debajo de las expectativas

  En nuestro viaje por el Lago Constanza, este se suponía el mejor hotel que ibamos a visitar, y si bien las instalaciones y el edificio son bonitos, la realidad es que ha quedado por debajo de las expectativas. Las habitaciones son bastante pequeñas(en nuestro caso, una de las habitaciones era abuhardillada), con espacio para la cama, una mesa y poco más. El baño es con ducha y no pasa de correcto. El desayuno es de lo mejor del hotel, con buena variedad en el buffet. Pero la sorpresa negativa nos vino al despertar, ya que desde los alrededores llega un olor fuerte, penetrante y desagradable que te marca durante toda la estancia. Según el personal del hotel, es por las granjas cercanas...

  Excellent Hotel close to Lake Constance

  We loved our stay at this hotel. About 5 km from the Lake, but central location. Friendly helpful staff, very comfortable large double bed with good mattress, excellent breakfast buffet with a large selection of food, everything freshly prepared. The evening meal in the restaurant was also very good. High standard of cleanliness. A 3star hotel which deserves 4 stars!

  Good base to visit Lake Bodense

  We were visiting Bodensee as part of a roadtrip around Southern Germany. Due to high demand for hotel rooms in this tourist hotspot area this hotel can charge quite high (for us) prices in the summer and still be full every night. It is a busy modern hotel a few kilometres from the lake. Rooms are comfortable but small but each benefit from a balcony which was very pleasant for sitting out in the evening. Our room on the second floor had sloping walls in the eaves of the roof near the bed and I banged my head several times! Rooms do not have air conditioning, a kettle or a fridge but we were able to ask for ice from the bar to cool a bottle of wine and the barman was very obliging. Our bathroom was very small and we thought it would benefit from updating. Breakfast was very good with helpful service and the fresh rolls were particularly tasty. We found the filter coffee offered in the jugs unpleasant, but you can ask for a cappucino which was better. The restaurant was pleasant with a outside seating area and reasonable prices including some vegetarian options, Uhldingen Mulhofen is not well-supplied with cafes and restaurants outside its hotels. However if you don't mind roughing it a bit Simon's Pizza Delivery across the road offer pizza, pasta and wine and a couple of tables. They were pleased enough to see us eat there to offer us both a free limoncello as a digestif. The hotel internet would not connect successfully with our two mobiles or one laptop for several hours after we arrived - our devices seemed to have some problem recognising the IP address, but it resolved itself eventually. Reception said no-one else had reported any problems. If you're visiting Bodensee you have to stay somewhere and all-in-all we felt this is a good option.

  Enjoyed Our Stay

  This is a good family run hotel with a restaurant attached (for the evening). Centrally located (if you have a car) to get to all the attractions around the eastern side of Bodensee Lake. Very, very helpful staff, very clean hotel, parking was not a problem at all.

  Great Hotel

  We arrived at 3pm on Sunday just right for check in on our two night stay. The spacious outdoor seating area in the restaurant was full with families enjoying a Sunday meal. The hotel itself had a modern lobby with the bar and restaurant decorated in a traditional style. The reception staff were friendly and efficient. We were a bit disappointed with our room as it was small, dated but clean. It had no balcony as we would have like to have sat outside. It also had no towels and after trying to ring reception I had to go to reception to ask for towels. We ate in the restaurant twice as there was limited choice as to where to go in Uhldingen-Mühlhofen. The food was good with generous portions. There was also good choice of wines and beers. The service was friendly and efficient. The buffet breakfast was very good in the lovely dining area. The hotel is situated over 5kms from Meersberg which we walked into and back on our second day. It had free parking and no problem parking our motorbike. It had free wi-fi too. Overall we enjoyed our stay in the Hotel Kreuz.
