    Normalito

Hemos llegado y la verdad es un Hotel muy normal, algo antiguo y pocos servicios para comer o beber después de las 10 de la noche, creo que la próxima vez que venga a Thailandia me quedaré en otro hotel distinto.

nice place to live in Phuket

Boat lagoon Resort is great to live in, they are having very good villa type rooms with all the amenities, the area is posh, only drawback is it is far from Patong beach. However, all the travel service providers are providing service to collect pax from this place.

    Better Management Required

Stayed here two nights on the way to a friends wedding (not usually somewhere we would go) and much as we love Thailand and the people here, its obviously not a great place to work! The usually smiling, friendly Thai were nowhere to be found. Took forever to check in, waited 20 minutes and there was no one else checking in with the two of us! We had online booking done and all passports etc ready, then once we eventually got in we had to wait again for one member of staff to find the bus to take us to our room. Even with it so quiet thanks to the CORONAVIRUS, it was close to 45 minutes before we got our room. Rooms were old and the Internet was terrible - patchy and kept dropping out. The bed was as hard as a rock. Tidy and clean is the best I can report. Breakfast in the Captains Room was dreadful. A small selection of fruit, and a buffet that looked really bad - I tried the curry chicken and it was tough and stringy. Luckily we could order fresh fried eggs and cooked some toast. We tried the scrambled...dont! Only choice black tea or coffee (green tea would cost more) and staff, although trying to be friendly, simply seemed bored and unhappy to be there. Then the school kids arrived! Yep, you heard it right, bus loads of kids arrived for English camp so now the hotel is full of noisy children. If you were expecting a quiet resort, this is not it. I heard from other guests that the pool (which is huge) was due to be closed...thankfully we werent staying there long. It really is a good setting, if you need to stay on this side of Phuket, and overlooking the marina is nice, but it could be so much better. New management required I think, it really wasnt pleasant and I feel sorry for the staff.

OK, but would not come again

We have been in Boat Lagoon for almost a week now. This was a week that we bought through Interval International. I did a lot of research on Tripadvisor before this trip, and the reviews were pretty mixed; from really terrible to excellent. We were prepared for the worst, but have really been positively surprised! We are not in the hotel, but in an apartment situated in the buildings by the marina. The apartment # 624) is huge, about 85 square meters, has a terrace of about 15 m2 ( no table or chairs outside though, why is that????) and has comfortable seating inside, although the bed is pretty hard. The kitchen is really limited, basically two cups, saucers, side-plates and dinner-plates. With 2, knives forks and spoons in the drawer. Two saucepans, an oven, a microwave and two hobs, but no equipment to do the cooking, not even a can opener or a bottle opener! Why? When there is so much space that bowls etc could be placed in?? However, it was manageable for just the two of us, as long as there are restaurants around, which there are plenty.. The area around here consists of mainly timeshare properties ( Karma resorts) and is is very un- Thai, its more reminiscent of a Caribbean resort, which seems a bit weird. There are about 12 restaurants within easy walking distance, everything from Indian, to French, and of course Thai! What is a shame is that nearly all the restaurants are empty, due to the corona virus. We walked passed 9 restaurants this evening, and counted 14 guests in total, and five of the restaurants were completely empty. Apparently this area is normally packed with Chinese people, and of course they are not allowed to travel. Great for us, as we have the pool to ourselves, but not so good for the business here, one restaurant owner was saying that they are down by more than 60 %! The pool at Boat Lagoon Resort closed during our stay; I really feel that we should have been informed before our arrivals, as there is no beach nearby. Although we have the possibility of using another pool, the space is very limited with with about 9 sun beds and 3 daybeds for the whole Boat Lagoon AND the Karma resort!!!I certainly hope that when the pool is re- opened, there will be more beds poolside, as there were definitely not enough sun beds, but loads of space in which to put them! Our apartment was right above the best and cheapest restaurant on the marina; TheDock A cafe. This restaurant is absolutely worth a visit! The real downside of this apartment was the smell of sewage and the dreadful smell of rubbish burning at night. No idea where it came from, but it was awful in the very early morning, and I lost sleep because of it. All in all an ok stay, but not a place we would come to again.

    Holiday Trip

We booked this vacation in January and we came on March 11 and we wanted to stay until March 15. When we got into the lobby at approximately 5 oclock on Wednesday I noticed that there was nobody inside I understand the coronavirus is around. I look to my right and I noticed the swimming pool When I entered the hotel the swimming pool was not in use it was out of commission which was a very big part why I booked this hotel. When I was talking to the front The staff that night it was very difficult because they did not speak English very well at all. I asked him to find my reservations that I had confirmation on my phone. They could not find my reservation at all and they told me I can stay for two nights only. The third night they would have to move me to another room which I declined. The following day someone called me in the middle of the night to tell me that they canceled my reservation but I can stay as long as I wanted which we stayed for five days. At first they were going to charge us for breakfast but with my previous reservation the breakfast was included and they solve our problem. The Internet in the room was very very bad all five days. I found out that the front desk does not have Internet so that is why they did not receive my first reservations for five days. Each morning I had to be shuttled over to the other pool which was about five minutes away and bring my own towels from the first hotel. At the pool the service was unbelievable bad no one ever came up to us and asked us if we want to drink or anything the staff was lazy and did not once in five days come around and asked us if we want to drink or something to eat. When I was leaving that pool I had to call the other hotel to pick me up as the person behind the bar the gentleman handed me the telephone and I told me to speak to the other hotel to pick me up.How lazy can you be. All day the only thing they do is sit around the bar on a chair and watch TV and listen to music I like that job too. I ordered a taxi to go down to Phuket city they charge me $700 Phuket dollars and on the way back I paid 600 Phuket dollars. Why does the hotel have to make 100 bucks which is equal to about five dollars for doing nothing when the hotel is at 20% full. Well this is my third time in Phuket and my second time staying in this resort which would be my last time I will be staying here. I understand the coronavirus has taken a toll but we still paid full price for our room and we expect same service each and every day. I hope you read my comments and take it for iwhat its worth and I hope when this coronavirus is done we all can enjoy this hotel better than I did. Mike Shapiro from Canada
