  What a wonderful stay!

  We came here for a December night to look at the lights on the Boardwalk. Being there in December, we missed some of the summertime amenities which means we also got the winter price! The price was unbelievably fair and surprising for what you get! I had to call prior to us arriving and the staff that answered the phone was incredibly friendly. Our check in was a little more lengthy than what I'm normally used to, but I'm assuming some was for Covid and other parts were just to cover their bases. Not at all a problem though. In fact, I'm really upset I dont' remember the woman's name that checked us in around 6PM on 12-19-20 (for management to be able to look it up and recognize her for a good job if possible). She was very friendly and helpful. I watched her interact with other guests as they came in. She always said "Welcome Home" to them which I thought was a really great slogan for the hotel to say to guests. Some of the guests were thanking her for the help she had given them earlier on while I was there. We had a really awesome room on the 8th floor. We had opted for a one room suite. I had seen pictures beforehand which really don't seem to do it justice. It has a very nice and modern kitchen stocked with a good amount of kitchen gadgets. It has a little dining room table with a bench seat that you can sit at and watch the ocean. It has a nice "L" couch. Then that room overlooks the ocean. One of the walls is all mirror which gives the appearance not only of a much bigger room but also like the beach view is much bigger than it actually is. The bathroom setup honestly was a little strange to me. There's a door to the toilet but the shower is out in the open which was weird sharing the room with our kids, but we made it work. It's in the bedroom so you can close that door off to the main living area. The queen bed was fairly comfortable although I wish it could have been a king, I don't think that would have worked with the space in the room and is certainly not a complaint against the hotel. We utilized the sofa bed that was in the room which was a decent size for my son. I also forgot to mention that during check-in, we inquired about a crib. They said they have complimentary pack-n-plays that we could use. Somebody heard we needed one and was instantly on it. The pack-n-play was set up in our room before we even got upstairs! Great service! So the bedroom has another beautiful oceanview with a balcony and two chairs. Check out was a very simple process and that woman was very nice as well. We can't unfortunately afford to stay here in the summertime, but we will certainly enjoy it in the off season and will definitely stay in this hotel again! What a wonderful experience!

  Loved this stay

  We were very happy with our 3 night stay at the Boardwalk. Staff were very nice. They did send us around the corner to a person who wanted to sign us to up for a tour presentation. She did not pressure us when we declined, but had her mask partially off. We had a one bedroom oceanfront on the 5th floor. Room seemed spacious and clean. It appeared that parts of the kitchen were new. Cabinets needed restaining, but not that noticeable. Kitchen well stocked. Knives were quite dull. Pots and pans seemed new. There were doors on either side of the toilet. Shower and vanity were a part of the bedroom without a separate door. There was a door between the kitchen/living area and bedroom. The sliding door was quite difficult to open and close, but not impossible. On the weekend, we could smell people smoking on other balconies. On the weekdays, that wasnt an issue. TVs worked well. Internet was included and was ok. Worked fine for me to work remotely and my daughter to do her online streaming classes. Due to COVID, we tried to use the stairwell most of the time. However, from the ground level, we were unable to find a way to get to the stairs to go up. Thus, we did use the elevator a few times. Their indoor pool was open, but with COVID numbers, we did not feel safe going in. We may have considered it if we were guaranteed to be the only family in there, but it did not appear to be set up that way. We would definitely consider staying here again!

  Clean, accommodating, and friendly

  My family and I have been staying here while looking for a place to live since we recently relocated for work. There is always someone cleaning here which makes me feel safe during Covid. There were some appliance malfunctions that they immediately replaced and helped with. When we came in over the weekend they were sold out so we stayed one night at another hotel that was horrendous! Mercedes not only found us a room to check into super early, but set me up in the business room so I could run my business meeting privately. The rooms are prefect for a stay with a kitchen, dining, living, and bedroom. When you see housekeeping, they are masked up with gloves and Ive seen them in action when passing by. They clean well and clearly take the job seriously. The manager takes this seriously and will remind anyone of the masking policy when they enter his lobby. Theres also a couple amazing faculty downstairs that I always see mopping and sanitizing. You definitely get your moneys worth for this stay and should enjoy the convenient location and ocean view! You can hear the ocean from your room which is the best part!

  Not what Id consider oceanfront!

  I booked an oceanfront front room at The Boardwalk Resort and Villas in Virginia Beach, Va for a peaceful weekend for my husband and I. Time to decompress and listen to the waves kiss the shore, instead we get to listen to the traffic on Atlantic Ave. Because we can lean over the balcony and see the ocean they consider it Oceanfront. Are you kidding? Weve had this issue before with Diamond resorts. Deceptive advertising. To say I am disappointed and angry is an understatement. Well I will say one thing for Diamond resorts they are consistent.

  Completely disappointed in the staff

  I came into this building looking to book for the night and was told that my children will not be able to use the bathroom while we wait (there were 3 people in line in front of us). The staff was completely rude and unhelpful. When I mentioned that I would be leaving a review of our poor treatment, the staff member said "Great, glad to hear it!". Considering that we were potential customers, it is pretty saddening to see how you treat people. I will not be attempting to stay at this hotel again.
