  Terrible during corona virus

  Miserable stay!!! Put us in a room that was horrible, on the back side!!! Never should have been used!! During cleanliness and corona time, nothing was clean or safe!!! Im still praying that we dont get sick. Everything, outdated, nasty not even sanitized by housekeeping!!!! Stains on mattress, etc!!! Never seen a Bluegreen property this horrible!! And Ive never got a chance to speak to the manager!! And I have photos.,,,,awful!!!!

  BREATH OF FRESH AIR after horrible stay at Harbor Lights property

  We had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience with the check in staff at Harbor Lights in Myrtle Beach, so was not really looking forward to this hotel, but it was my brothers choice. BUT Vicki D checked us in. She was as absolutely NICE AS CAN BE. My brother is hard of hearing and refuses to wear his hearing aides and yet she dealt with him so sweetly. It was such a night and day difference between Harbor lights and Odyssey. She explained the new guideline put in due to Covid. She was gracious and accomodating. Room was very nice. Found it funny to find a food wrapper under the edge of the bedskirt. I dropped my phone and thought it went under the bed. Of course nowadays things to not go under because of boarding off, but there was actually a granola wrapper there. Room was very clean. Loved having an ice maker because I only drink ice tea so use plenty of ice. Air conditioning worked great. LOVED LOVED LOVED the ceiling fans. The 2nd bedroom was small with no closet or window. Not too accommodating to have to go to a hall closet by the bathroom to get clothes. Because of no window so no circulation there was a very nice ceiling fan AND shutters of some sort at the top of the wall to let air flow. SO with the ceiling fan and very hot days, that room was quite pleasant to sleep in. AND CONSIDERING I SLEEP HOT...I was very comfortable. I LOVED having bathroom vanity and toilet NOT FOR KIDS. I absolutely hate low vanities and toilets. WHY HOTELS feel that need is beyond me considering most all people have regulation height counters, vanities and toilets. this was so nice to have all of them for actual PEOPLE not kids. WE HAD ISSUES with hot water first 2 nights so went down on the 2nd night. Girl NOT FRIENDLY AT ALL THAT NIGHT, but maintenance came up and explained an issue with some valve and stack and whatnot and by next morning we were having a little better hot water. Never got hot enough for my brother who likes hot showers, but I don't so was fine with me. We did not use the park at all. Did not like the fact it was blocked off at the main entrance and we had to go a far distance to get around to the hotel, which is already in back of Olympus...very inconvenient and they really need to come up with something better to accommodate their guests. The same girl was was NOT very nice the night before was outside smoking, right by the front door and really irked me because I am 67 - old enough to have been her grandmother and she - in a sing-song demeaning manner - "did we forget our masks today? i LOOKED AT HER AND SAID - WHAT ARE WE 5? Did we forget we are not supposed to smoke less than 500 feet from an entrance because WE OLD PEOPLE you talk to like children have bad lungs? the mask was around my neck and we had NOT ENTERED THE HOTEL. So yep, some staff really do not do justice after dealing with Vicki on check in.

  Rooms served their purpose but were nothing fancy.

  We stayed here so we could do the amusement park that is attached. Only the indoor parts of the park were open but we still enjoyed it. The rooms were small and dated but worked. Our room did smell musty so we opened a window to let in fresh air. We also could hear anytime the people above us flushed the toilet.

  Clean, but in need of serious updates

  Im an owner in Bluegreen and very disappointed in this last stay. The place was cleaned, but needs updates. I had to use points up so I didnt lose them so I booked 2 rooms for my family and my sister in laws. Both rooms were clean, but needed updates. The carpet had areas that were ripping off the floor, the couch was filthy covered in dirt stains on the arms and the couch mattress looked like it had been peed on. The furniture was very worn, my toilet seat was yellow should have been more white, but yellowed as some plastics do over time. Both rooms were 2 bedrooms and my sister in law had a double and a queen bed, but my room for my family was two double beds. So my husband and I who prefer a queen bed had to share a bed the size of a full. Nice thing was water park and indoor amusement park were open for kids and not very crowded, which is why I gave a rating of 2 otherwise without I would have said it was a 1. I would have probably given the stay 2 1/2 for the water and amusement parks, but definitely not 3 because of the conditions of the rooms.

  Very nice stay in Feb 2021

  We visited in February 2021 and were impressed by the precautions taken by the resort to sanitize and maintain cleanliness! We visited the fitness room and liked the mini coffee maker in the lobby (lattes, mochas & espressos!). We have stayed here a few times and will be back. The only thing we thought the unit could use was an oven. :) Lots of towels and supplies in room (even popcorn and hot chocolate).
