Great ocean front getaway! After our beach getaway in March got cancelled due to Covid, my aunt wanted to get to the beach before warm weather was gone, so I booked 2 nights at the Blue Water Resort. While researching, I thought it looked great- ocean front, reasonable prices, many amenities, but after reading mixed reviews, I was a little nervous about how it would be. We decided to leave a day early & called to see if they had a room available which they did. I asked about the original room we booked and found out it was an underground room without windows (Edge of sea room w/2 dbl beds) which I dont believe was stated in the room description. The person checking for availability a day early, switched our room to a double queen (traditional surf club) which was a slight increase in rate, but only charged us that rate for the extra night, she still gave us the lower rate of the original room for the other 2 nights. I thought that was great customer service AND awesome that we now had windows, a balcony & queen beds! Pros: The grounds were immaculate, beautiful landscaping throughout, ocean front, indoor & outdoor pool, outdoor bar & food service with covered patio dining area. Pizzas which were delicious. Cocktails were awesome. Beach was clean. Staff were very friendly & professional and several times I saw on gentleman helping older people by carrying their bags up the stairs. Also, my aunt was talking to the bartender while getting a drink outside and commenting how much I liked the lighthouse centerpieces on patio dining tables and asked if they had any for sale. Was told she didnt think so, but later that day, called up to our room, told my aunt she found one, and would leave it at the front desk. When my aunt went down to get it, the staff handed her the box, said this is from the manager free of charge! How sweet was that?!? Cons: No elevators, so carrying things upstairs was tough or took a few trips. Im not sure if there was extra parking anywhere, but the parking lot was kind of tight and usually pretty full. We always found a spot, but a few times we got the very last one. Beach had quite a bit of seaweed- not sure if its always that way, or the time of year we were there, but no trash- very clean beach other than seaweed. Overall we had a wonderful time, loved everything about the Blue Water. Would definitely go back & definitely recommend to others!

We were disappointedWe had issues with their reservation people which should have been our first clue. Booked an Ocean view room and told them we had a dog with us. They are a pet friendly hotel. When we checked in we were advised that Ocean View rooms were not pet friendly rooms. We also hadn't been told we should bring vaccine proof from our Vet as per hotel policy. When I made the reservation I was told the pet fee was $35./day. When I got my receipt in an email I had been charged $50/day. The room they put us in was dump. The bathroom had a hand held shower hanging from a loose plastic coat hook and sprayed into the wall. The TV was the size of a postage stamp. Frayed fabric on the chairs and the rooms was just not clean looking. It was a shame because the have a nice private beach and the poolside bar was also very nice with a very nice bartender. Staff was nice but I would never stay there again. Pre-check in link did not work.

Terrible management and service standardsWe stayed at the Blue Water recently and will never return. Not only did we check into a room with a filthy bathroom and hair in the sheets but when we called the front desk asking for a manager we were told there was no one working. We stayed for 2 nights and called several times to speak with a manager in the morning and afternoon and never received a call back. We even went into the lobby and the front desk told us the manager was in her office but busy so she couldnt speak with us. The front desk staff was polite about it but very disappointing! The food at the bar was okay, but the girl bartending was not friendly at all. The location is all that Blue Water has to offer. We had a great time exploring Cape Cod but will never ever stay at the Blue Water again.

Great location on the beachHad a large garden room with view of ocean. Located right next to outdoor heated pool and indoor pool right next door. Staff were all friendly and welcoming. Nice quiet safe neighborhood. Heated pools were open! and clean. Beds comfortable. Hyannis harbor, ferries only 15 min away. Would love to return again because 3 nights was not enough. Slight inclines on property and stairs to some rooms may hinder if you have trouble walking.

Good all around experience for an off season stayA friend of a friend recommended Blue Water Resorts to us and we were pleased with the overall experience. Because we came in the off season, we werent charged the daily resort fee, but could still make use of the amenities (i.e. indoor pool, outdoor pool, designated beach area & umbrellas, etc.,) The cottage was perfect for us because an individual in our group had limited mobility and couldnt do many steps, so we were able to park our car near the front door and just make a short walk to the unit. The kitchen was definitely a boon because it allowed us to cut down on outside meal expenses (and there is a Stop n Shop grocery store about a mile away) and the two bedrooms/two baths provided sufficient space for adult guests. The rooms are a bit dated, but still found them to be a good bang for the buck considering the off season price we paid. The resort is located at the end of a more residential area, so the first time driving there was a bit odd, but during our stay, we realized this was a quiet, safe spot away from the more commercial areas where many of the motels are, but amenities like grocery stores, restaurants, etc. are only a short drive away. Yarmouth was also great city because it didnt appear to get the same crowds as the other towns on the Cape, but Hyannis (& the ferries to Nantucket/Marthas Vineyard) was only a 15-minute drive away and given its location in the middle of the Cape everything was within an hours drive. Our cottage was clean when we arrived. Since we didn't get housekeeping service while there, I can't comment on the COVID related cleaning standards. Additional Pros: Maintenance quickly responded to an issue with our bathroom. They were there within 15 minutes, which Ive never seen in a hotel before. All staff members were personable & professional. Bathrooms had been recently remodeled. Cons: You can hear everything in the cottage and some sounds from outside as well. If guests are on different sleep schedules and/or if you are a light sleeper, this may not be the best place. Based on the reviews, we did bring our own towels, but it was a mixed bag. One set of towels in the room were noticeably plusher & newer; the other set was quite thin. The cottage living rooms had A/C & heat, but the rooms only had A/C. There was a thin blanket on the bed, but since we had several cooler days during our stay in the off season, I regretted not bringing a blanket. Should we return, I probably would bring my own linens. The sheets bothered me more than the towel situation. The kitchen was well equipped as advertised (pots, pans, silverware, dishes, etc.,) and there was also an iron/ironing board too, but we were surprised there were no hair dryers in the bathroom.
