  CLOSE TO THE BEACH

  Got a room at the Blue Palm Inn for the weekend and it has been awesome. Came for some fishing and walking on the beach! Perfect location for all that! The beach is walking distance and the pier is right down the beach. Check in was awesome and the staff were very nice and friendly! Didn't catch the gentleman's name but he did say his wife's name was ThelmaLou?!?!? LOL great people and very helpful!

  Convenient, clean, cheap.

  Easter weekend, a short stroll from the beach and the main strip. Clean comfortable beds, an A/C that's cold and not noisy, decent sized rooms and a clean bathtub and shower that smelled clean. Parking is tight and limited, but theres really no ambient noise from the street and the walls are suitably thick to prevent sounds bleeding through. Helpful, friendly staff. Fridge, microwave and coffee pot in the room (although not impressed with the quality of the coffee, but Stripes is a 5 min walk up the road. We're low maintenance travellers and this fit our budget, needs and expectations. Hard to get rooms here sometimes because they are popular for the reasons listed above. We'll be back the next time we book early enough to snag a room.

  Great People, Great Location, Great Time!

  We cannot thank Shane & Sharan enough! Upon arrival, we discovered Travelocity had not reserved a room, even though I had paid for it a month in advance! The inn had no available rooms, so Sharan got on the phone with Travelocity and we both spoke with their representatives, who were not helpful at all. Shane and Sharan then scrambled to make available one of the stone cabins that was in the process of renovations. It was perfect for us and I am so grateful to them. This property is extremely clean, in a great location (don't miss eating at Shell's across the street!), and affordable. If you are laid back and low maintenance, this is the place for you! I like that the staff gives guests their space. I am perfectly capable of picking up after myself and am not fond of staying in places where strangers enter my room when I'm not there, so this place made me feel very comfortable. I also liked that we could park right outside our unit. Cell phone service inside the stone cottages is spotty, which was fine with me as the trade off was the peace and quiet. My advice would be CALL THEM DIRECTLY TO RESERVE YOUR ROOM, (361)749-6360. Travelocity took my money, did not reserve my room, then "gladly" offered to refund my money, which "should appear in 1-2 billing cycles". I learned a valuable lesson; to no longer use these online booking sites. From what I've learned, this is happening more and more often.

  Hanging at the Blue Palm

  Our normal Port Aransas lodging was booked during the time we wanted to go, so we gave this place a chance, instead, and we'll be back. For one, this room had a full-sized fridge and a gas stove, so it meant we didn't have to wander the island searching for breakfast each morning. The room was also *big*. Since fishing was one of our main activities planned for this trip, we had more than enough space for our gear. The owners are also friendly and engaging, and the rates are reasonable. A couple of good things to know: there isn't a pool (but honestly - swim in the sea), they rent golf carts for competitive prices if you want to do that. There is a shack for cleaning fish. The beach is really close. Oh - and the AC was *super* efficient.

  Enjoyable Stay

  My husband and I spent 2 nights here and it was very enjoyable. The room was very nice and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. If we needed anything, all we had to do was ask. Close enough to the beach but not congested. Would definitely stay here again.
