Very dissapointedBooked via telephone and email. Arrival date 11 April 2014. Specifically advised management that we would eat in the restuarant on day of arrival. Two thirds of the one page menu was not available to order., no salad lettuce & tomato! We are sure the chips and prawns were from pick and pay frozen line. Dissapointed. Accommodation average, self catering knives and forks are ' plastic ' Very clean and well kept. Staff good.

A Relaxing GetawayMy husband and I, didn't actually have a booking, but on the off chance, we stopped in to see if Blue Mood could accommodate us.... We planned to just stay for 2 nights, but had such a wonderful relaxing and mind refreshing time, then stayed an extra night..... The food was great and hospitality was very warm and welcoming... We hope to return again, maybe next time we will be able to stay longer. DENISE AND KEVIN Oxford, UK

Great Experience! Best lodge manager! We got very lucky with this place. After other nearby place that we booked through Expedia.ca was double booked, we were able to find this lodge on another platform and call them and confirm the booking within 20 minutes. The manager of the place is a great guy that gets things done and fixes issues with reservations very fast (as opposite to the other experience we had in Inhambane). The food was great, fresh and tasty. We were staying over during Christmas time and the manager and his friends organized Christmas tree, family style Christmas dinner and even Santa Clause that was going to each and every guest during the dinner. Rooms were very clean as well. Overall, great experience and would recommend this place for sure.

Manager doesn't have a clueI found myself having to stay the night in Inhambane during a business trip. Rather than staying somewhere in Inhambane town, I resolved to pick a place on Tofo beach about 20km from the airport and stay there for the night. Blue Moon looked good on the web so I made my reservation. Having no transport in Inhambane, it was encouraging to see that they offer airport transfers - both free and paid. I expected that I'd have to pay, being a party of one staying for just one night. On arrival at the airport I called up the hotel and got a heavily-accented gentleman who seemed unhappy to get my call. I explained that I needed an airport transfer and he launched into a tirade that I was crazy to expect such service, my stay being only for one night. I commiserated with him, saying that I'd be happy to pay, but he'd clearly decided that the mere thought of sending a car down was too much, getting steadily more abusive. Eventually I decided I didn't want to spend my phone credit on his tirade, so I hung up and found another place. So here's a pro tip: prepare to be real nice to the owner, banish all thought of service, and grit your teeth. If you manage to get there, the beach might be nice. I never got a chance to find out.

It's a great place, if you give it a chanceWe enjoyed our stay here very much. Found a lot of guests complaining about Manager, but truth be told he was very nice to us, and his cooking skills are on point (he is also a chef). Very quiet, relaxing place. Don't expect all blows and whistles of a fully fleshed lodge by South African standards, it's a bit basic, but quite nice. Just like Mozambique, charming place, but missing a lot of urban luxuries... like Malls :) So if you're after all those perks of civilization, then probably avoid Mozambique all together. In fact biggest issue with other guests seemed to be Wifi. Problem is there is no landlines in the area/so DSL is not there. He uses expensive mobile data, so guests are asked to pay if they want to access internet. That didn't bother me at all, in fact it was nice to have a break from internet for few days.
