  Boat Cruise

  I have gone on two boat cruises through the Blockade Runner. One was a brewery cruise and one was the sunset/holiday lights cruise. The staff is professional, fun, and kind throughout the whole trip. During the hour cruise we saw a beautiful sunset, dolphins, and views of the intracoastal. I would absolutely recommend going on this trip with family and friends!

  To start the New Year right!

  Excellent stay at the Blockade Runner for the New Year package. Great pig picking and Low Country Boil with lots of side options and desserts. Social distancing observed with good use of indoor and outside seating. Beautiful grounds and easy walk to beach. Everything you need on site and easy walk to local shops and grocery. We also did another night sunset cruise which was beautiful! Room very clean with nice view of beach.

  Love it!

  I have just checked in today and I absolutely love the old-school feel of this hotel. It beats any modern day hotel by a long shot. Everything is very clean and the staff has been so kind. The Decour is a definite change of pace from your typical hotel rooms and all of their dark furniture. This place is light and bright and the grounds are beautiful. I will definitely be back. If you need a place to take a deep breath and relax, this is definitely the place to do that. I love it. It is even set up so that you can see the ocean from the bathroom which I think is so smart. Isnt that what you come to the beach to see. The rooms have tile floors instead of carpet which I appreciate in a hotel room and it is rare to find. Keep up the great work. This is the first time I have taken a couple days off in an entire year and Im so glad I chose to spend them here.

  Winter Birthday Get-a-way

  My ocean front room was exactly what I needed to reintroduce me to how big and beautiful our world really iseven in the midst of a pandemic. Just what I needed... Photos are early morning views from my 4th room.

  So disappointing...

  I was prepared to love this hotel based on reviews and was so disappointed. The big issue was that the temperature in the room was 59 degrees! We called the front desk and someone rang us back to say that we were staying in an old part of the building and since it had been hot out that day (February 27), the heat would not be turned on till 8:00 PM. I have never heard of such a thing in a hotel. Then, once she mentioned that it was an "old" part of the building, I looked around and could see tile coming off the nightstand and gaps under the slider that was not in good shape. The tub didn't drain and oceanfront view was blocked by trees. That and the fact they wanted to charge $35 for a 12:00 check out did not seem right for $200+ room in the off season. Although all of the employees were great, I would suggest trying another hotel in Wrightsville Beach. We will.
