    Quick getaway

Hard to start this review, because usually I only have to think about good and positive words to write...... NOT THIS TIME! When we looked for accomodation we wanted to take our dog with us as we normally do so we needed something pet friendly. Let me tell you, this place is not that! If you arrive late in the middle of Autumn when you have not much light outside by around 6pm you need to consider that this place have no dog friendly paddock to quickly run your pets after a big journey. There is a huge road right outside the place with no lights, and although the traffic is not very frequent, still you need to consider that when walking your dog. The cottage. Where shall I start? Kitchen.....one word, DIRTY! The kettle was black and I mean black inside and when we took it to the owners/managers, there was no apologising. They just got us another one from a different cottage. I could not use a singe spoon or fork let alone cookware without re-washing them. The bathroom, surprisingly was the cleanest of all, however....... there is a great big jacuzzi inside, which you would think would be just perfect to use, when winter is round the corner. Think again..... the limited hot water will not fill it up!!!!! Then WHY IS IT THERE???????? The whole cottage had this what I could describe as "old" smell. The reason is that I wanted future visitors to know all of this is not because I enjoy writing bad reviews. I felt the need to say all this, because I have had over 10 years in the hospitality business working in all areas, bars, restaurant, pubs and hotels. For the price this place is asking, the quality is more than appalling. I felt cheated and ripped off. The bbq outside of our cottage was in such state, I would not have cooked anything on it for my dog. Just so sad that we chose to go there, as we don`t get too much time off from our work and we wanted and were looking forward spending a nice 4 days, instead we could not wait to get out. The only reason we stayed was having our dog with us, and we did not want to put her under more travel.

    Cosy cottage

Lovely spot but lacked a few key items. Not quite value for money. Broken floor tile in bathroom. DVD player didn't work. Cosy fire and comfortable bedrooms. Table didn't seat 6. Close to town and many beautiful forest walks. Overall, we had a great weekend spending quality time with family and our dogs.

    A wonderful place to stay!!!

Spent a week in June at the cottages with friends. What can I say...it was a great location, close to many sightseeing activities, had spectacular views, was extremely clean and had every kitchen item needed to cook with! Staff were welcoming and friendly and attended to every need, cottages were cosy and well set up with modern bathrooms and comfortable beds. A great place to stay if you want to go sight seeing through the victorian countryside or to just have a quite relaxing time in front of a fire with with a glass of wine. Thanks for the impeccable hospitality.

    Such a lovely place

Chestnut Cottage was just lovely. Quiet, relaxing and amazing views. We (husband, wife and teenage son) did a quick getaway before Christmas and there was nothing better than sitting on the verandas looking our over the paddocks of freshly cut hay. The Alpacas at the fence each morning add an extra touch. The beds were comfortable and the cottage appointed with everything we needed. We had the best parma's at the Toolshed in nearby Noojee, which also added to the experience. Well worth the visit.

    Quiet Retreat

This is a lovely cottage, spacious and has a bedroom in the mezzanine, décor is a little dated but goes with the cottage. There are only 2 cottages and they have beautiful gardens. The only thing missing was a hand towel as there were only 2 towels, another smaller one was needed to go near the sink. Staff were lovely and communicated well with instructions for registration. It is a great base for exploring the area. The local Hotel was a great place for dinner too.
