Amazing service!Stayed at LVIS Blancura Hotel, Dharavandhoo during the Manta Festival 2019 which was held at Eydhafushi (15 mins by boat from Dharavandhoo). Ali Visham was extremely helpful with arranging the transfers, and our tight schedule was not an issue for them!

My 2nd Visit Here! Excellent Service & Outstanding Value-for-money!!!I first stayed here back in July 2017 together with 2 friends and I enjoyed my time here tremendously. This time, I returned with another friend and we took 2 rooms for 6 nights in early September 2019. The LVIS Blancura is a family-owned business and this time I was fortunate to meet all 4 brothers: Visham, Lisham, Lishan & Isham, who manage this property themselves as well as a restaurant called MedMex Bistro, located in Male, the capital city. All the 4 brothers are very kind and hospitable hosts, they will go out of their way to accommodate the needs of their guests. Here is a breakdown of my review for my recent holiday here: 1) Top Notch Service without a Hefty Price Tag - Visham, the eldest of the 4 brothers, has worked for Soneva Fushi, a 5-star resort located on another island in the Maldives, for 10 years before venturing into this business and he brings his experience in the hospitality business into the management of this guesthouse. At my request, the management team booked our return domestic flights from Male to Dharavandhoo, Visham met us at the Male domestic airport to help us check-in for our flight and upon arrival in Dharavandhoo, Lishan picked us up from the airport in a taxi and sent us straight to the guesthouse. Upon arrival at the guesthouse, we were offered a refreshing fruit drink and a cold towel, just like the welcome service in any 5-star resort and hotel! Check-in was a breeze, our rooms were ready and cooled down with the air-conditioners running. Once you have arrived, you are in good hands because the management team can help you to make whatever arrangements you wish for. 2) The rooms - This is just a small guesthouse with a total of 11 rooms, the rooms are spacious and well-equipped with all the amenities of a 4-star hotel room: personal digital safe, tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryer, ironing board & electric steam iron, a flat screen television with some international channels, a very efficient air-conditioner, very good water pressure in the shower, basic toiletries, a very comfortable bed with high quality Egyptian cotton bed linen, etc. If you need anything else in your room, like a power adaptor, just make the request and they will loan one to you for free. They supply each room with a 1.5 litre bottle of drinking water each day and if this is not sufficient for you, you can request for additional bottles of water from the kitchen staff at any time during their working hours. The room rates here are approximately USD150 per night and it includes breakfast. 3) Food & Beverages - All the meals are served in the restaurant of this guesthouse. The included breakfast is serve buffet-style and it includes toast, pancakes or crepes, home-made chocolate brownies, cereals, muesli, chocolate chip cookies or Oreos and tropical fruits. You can also request for an omelette with fillings of your choice, scrambled eggs and fried eggs in any way you want, it is also included. Tea, coffee, milk, fruit juice and drinking water are also complimentary. We opted to take the daily set lunch and dinner during our entire stay, which only cost USD10 per person, per meal. 2 years ago, it was exactly the same price as it is today! The set meal includes either chicken or fish with sides of stir-fried vegetables, potato wedges and fried rice. You can also request for simple items like fish & chips for your set meal. For the 6 days that we stayed here, our set meals were never repeated, we got to try many styles of cooking. The head chef, Muhiddin, is very talented and he can whip up Italian, Mexican, English, American, Indian, Chinese and, of course, Maldivian fare. This island has a steady supply of fresh fish, therefore, the fish dishes here are amazing! If there are more than 20 guests dining on any evening, a buffet dinner will be served. On Friday evenings, they serve a traditional Maldivian buffet dinner on the beach, under the stars, if the weather is conducive. All this for only USD10 per person!!! I have travelled around the world and I can honestly tell you that you will not be able to find another restaurant that serves a delicious, high-quality buffet dinner with at least 8 different dishes for USD10 per head!!!!! With every set lunch and dinner, fruit juice, tea, coffee and drinking water is included. If you have any specific dietary requirements or food allergies, please inform the chef upon check-in and they will accommodate your requests. This restaurant also has an ala-carte menu and is open to outsiders for lunch and dinner if they do not have many in-house guests. On one of the evenings, after the in-house guests had finished dinner, a local Maldivian family dined here to celebrate a family member's birthday. 4) Wi-Fi Connectivity - The complimentary Wi-Fi here has improved tremendously since my last visit, the connection now is more stable, however, out in these small, remote islands, the internet speed will not be as fast as that found in the large cities. You will be able to check your emails and Whatsapp messages, as well as post a few holiday photos on Facebook. But please don't expect to stream a whole episode of Game of Thrones on your mobile device! 5) Excursions & Day Trips - The management here can help you to arrange any excursions and activities you want, ranging from island-hopping, sand bank picnics, manta snorkeling trips, scuba diving, visiting some of the high-end, glitzy resorts on nearby islands for a day trip, etc. I will tell you a great 'Value-for-money' advice here: this guesthouse has their own dhoni, a traditional Maldivian boat, and you can do a variety of trips on this boat for a paltry sum. For example; you can sign up for a full-day snorkeling excursion, with lunch included on board the boat or as a sand bank picnic, for just USD35 per person! The excursion will begin at 10am and ends at around 3pm. And during this trip, you can request to snorkel with mantas, whale sharks, turtles, etc. The captain of the boat keeps in touch with the marine rangers of the area, who monitor manta and whale shark activity in the vicinity. If mantas or whale sharks are spotted nearby, this boat can whisk you to the spot right away. It was during such a trip that my friend and I got to swim with a whale shark at Anga Faru Point, during our recent holiday here. This was the highlight of our holiday!!! Please take note that snorkeling trips into Hanifaru Bay, a UNESCO marine Biosphere Reserve cost USD60 per person because a registered guide and divemaster is required to bring guests into this restricted area. 6) Location - This guesthouse is located right on bikini beach, a part of the beach where overseas guests are allowed to sun bathe and swim in bikinis and swimming trunks. At the current moment, there are only 2 other guesthouses located on this strip of beach, therefore, the beach never feels crowded. There are lots of marine life in the house reef just off the beach, my friend and I went snorkeling here and saw 2 hawksbill turtles, 2 octopuses, schools of various types of reef fish and a baby black tip reef shark. Pods of dolphins often swim by, in the channel right off the beach and you can see them as they breach the surface! 7) Huge Variety of Souvenirs at Low Prices - I feel compelled to write about this souvenir shop on Dharavandhoo island, even though it is not under LVIS Blancura, so please bear with me on this. The Coral Boutique, located on the harbourfront, is a souvenir shop owned by a local called Nazim. During my previous visit, I discovered this little gem of a souvenir treasure trove and must share this information with fellow travelers who are visiting or planning to visit this island. This shop has a HUGE variety of souvenirs and the prices here are a fraction of the prices of the same items sold in Male and in the Velana International airport. For example; a good quality printed t-shirt with whale sharks, mantas and eagle rays only cost USD11 here, whereas the same t-shirt costs USD25 at the airport. The refrigerator magnets here cost USD2 each while at the airport, they cost USD5 each. Furthermore, Nazim gave me a 20% discount on everything that I bought here, which amounts to even more savings!!! This shop is definitely worth checking out if you are in Dharavandhoo. To sum it up, Dharavandhoo is a typical small Maldivian island with a fishing village, a domestic airport, a small harbour, a small government clinic, a school, a mosque, a few government offices and several guesthouses. For me, this is a prime example of the TRUE Maldives. There is no after-dinner entertainment, no bars, pubs or karaoke joints. No wild, drink-till-you-drop parties. No eardrum-exploding & heart-thumping music. If you are after those things, this is not the place for you. Come here for a relaxing beach holiday, snorkel with mantas, a whale shark and the abundant marine life, swim in the sea and experience true Maldivian charm without breaking the bank! LVIS Blancura is the only place I will stay at on this island because the people who run it are sincere and caring, they are the best hosts, ever! Highly Recommended!!!

Best guest house we have ever stayed at!This hotel has one of the best customer services and we felt so welcomed! They played with my young son while they were working and he had a blast! All the guests and staff felt like one big family and made our trip very relaxing and enjoyable. We went out for snorkeling almost everyday of our 8 nights here but could not see mantas for the first few days due to the weather. Usually in the season when we went(October), it is clear skies, but the weather patterns are changing and it was raining almost everyday. But we finally got to see them on the last two days and they were absolutely glorious. Once we finished the snorkeling, we went up on the boat and line fished in the rain. We ended up catching 10 fish which were served as dinner the next day! The food is delicious and the chef always comes around and talks with us and I got to learn a few tricks on how to cook some of the foods served there. He is a very experienced chef and I found myself looking forward to the food every day! Thank you so much for giving us this wonderful experience and welcoming us with the most wonderful staff! We will definitely stay here again if we ever get another chance to come!

I strongly recommend staying LIVS !!I strongly recommend staying LIVS !! Because..... 1. Foods: Foods are delicious by 25 years experienced chief(Mr.Uden) in Maldive and LVIS team make our time in restaurant very enjoyable. 2. Excursions: Excursions are super fun with friendly boat team (Mr.Chiyr, Mr.Riyaz, Mr.Liyas). Fishes we caught were cooked delicious for dinner. 3. Clean and tidy room: LVIS team clean the room so nicely and satisfactory. 4. Owner (Mr.Visham, Mr.Ishan, Mr.Lishan) are very helpful. Visham answered all the questions by Whatsapp while we were planing the trip to Dharavandhoo. Ishan helped in Male to find the domestic flight. Lushan helped all our stay in Dharavandhoo comfortable and enjoyable. 5. Day trip to resort island: We visited Kihaa Resort Island as a Day Trip. We enjoyed snorkeling in Kihaa house leaf and had relaxed time there. Kids enjoyed very much. 6. Friendly children of local island: LVIS Hotel is located in just next door of local residences. My kids met local children in beach and they kindly took us tour of local island. They taught us many about Dharavandhoo island. Even kids cook some local foods for us (like salad made by apple and carrot with Majya sauce which is spicy fish sauce) and did snorkeling in house leaf together. These are unforgettable memories ever!! We will definitely stay to the LVIS again if we could have a chance to come back!
