Hounslow runNever trust all the reviews, this was the best spot. Close to everything and cosy. Look past minor things and enjoy the bigger picture. We stayed in 4 bedroom cabin, spacious and convenient. We loved our stay, definitely worth it.

Great location but let down by its lack cleanliness and maintenanceOlder style accommodation at a reasonable price but it was dirty and needed some work. As we walked in there was a musty smell, the floor was generally dirty but particularly so under the beds. The pillows had seen better days and there was blood inside the freezer on the door. Many of the lights didn't work and the handle on the inside of the bathroom door was missing. The cabins are in a good location, a short walk from town but unless the things above were attended to I'd be reluctant to stay there again.

Top Family CabinInitially, we tried sourcing accomodation in Katoomba but struck out given a lack of suitable well priced properties. We had planned to spend a day at Scenic World. As it turns out Blackheath is under 15 minutes from Katoomba. For the money spent these are great family cabins. There are 2 separate bedrooms, large shower/bathroom, good sized fridge/upright stove and air-conditioning plus a tv. Our 3 boys loved the spaciousness and the electric blankets. Overall, we were impressed with the cabin, we had number 4. If we were back this way we would definitely come back here.

False advertising, dirty, and rude to bootWe booked this cabin on the basis of online advertising that specified clearly that there was a wood fire, both in writing and with photos of the rooms. We showed up after dark on a freezing winter's night and... Surprise! No fire. I called the proprietor, who in a rude and defensive manner refused to take any responsibility whatsoever for the false advertising, much less apologise. When I suggested a discount may be in order, she said we could leave if we didn't like it. She then became insulting, bordering on abusive, and stated she was too busy to talk to us. As if this wasn't enough icing on the crap cake, the rooms turned out to be dirty, with rubbish under the beds from previous guests including used tissues, old food crumbs in the kitchen, and dust everywhere. Oh, and despite the inadequate heating, the beds are made up with only thin blankets so we needed to get out our own sleeping bags (thank goodness we had them with us!) Just avoid like the plague. Oh, and to the proprietor who challenged me to leave a bad review ("I bet you'll get a kick out of that"), here 'tis. Enjoy.

FILTHY DIRTY- DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR - AVOID AVOIDFilthy/dirty oven hasnt been cleaned in god knows how long - stains on pillows! (Stink) stains on mattress protectors! Blankets and covers STINK! Spiders in sheets on main bed! Dust and dirt everywhere! Kerry (Manager) was RUDE! We rang to complain to booking.com and were told to call her so we did! She told us we were just after a "Free night" and if we werent happy to "GO HOME" we live 6 hours away! I rang booking.com back they called her (it was 11PM in NSW) Kerry then told booking.com to tell us to leave NOW or no refund would be given! We have 11 year old twins! but we packed everything up and left like KERRY (manager) told us to do! Kerry (manager) then assured booking to com that we would get a full refund that she would process "in the morning" 3 days later we are still waiting! and as of today still NO refund for this disgusting place! KERRY (manager) told us that she "hasnt seen inside the cabins for months!" - OMG! This CABIN 4 is dirty filthy and you do not want to go anywhere near the sheets/pillows or towels! Keys need to be collected from The Ivanhoe Hotel (Which Kerry runs) when we got there noone knew where said keys were but more then happy to take our $450! - The pub FOOD is disgusting and dripping OIL in a chicken schnitzel sandwich" not a surprise considering the state of their accommodation! The OIL mixed in with the butter on the "sandwich" and looked like mayonnaise! tasted WORSE! avid these cabins and ANYTHING to do with the Ivanhoe hotel!
