  Warm and friendly, best of Alaska

  We stayed in the "bunkhouse," a spacious cottage with small kitchen and comfortable living area. The property is on the shore of Tongass Narrows, not quite 5 miles north of downtown Ketchikan--where you do not want to me when monster cruise ships dock, Hosts Nicole and Jim know the area intimately and will offer advice and suggestions. There is an outdoor kitchen with grills and a hot tub and a pleasant terrace for watching boats and seaplanes go past and the sun go down.

  Wonderfull

  Jim and Nicole proved to be the most hospitable folks we have ever had on a stay. They made us feel at home but but top shelf accommodations. They have the local scene dialed in and gave us a hit list of places to go and people to meet. We got to meet some of the local artisans, experience the Totten parks, and get the flavor of the community. Thank you to our hosts! We will definitely stay again when we return.

  Fishing trip

  Great job Nicole and Jim, had a great time at the Black Bear Inn. Nicole was super with her recommendations and really made our trip easy. Nicole even stocked our refrigerator, she treated us like family. Great hospitality, would definitely return.

  Wonderful stay and ability to Work from Anywhere

  Great experience with Black Bear Inn, Nicole was amazing and incredibly helpful with information on traveling to Alaska during COVID and helping us get our trip planned. We stayed in the Bunkhouse which was perfect for privacy and social distancing. The bunkhouse has good wifi and cellular which made it easy to work remotely during our stay. The overall property is beautiful with beach access and an outdoor area for BBQ'ing and watching the sunset. Nicole and Jim were lovely hosts and made sure we had everything we needed as well as great recommendations on what to do around Ketchikan. We will definitely go back!

  Peaceful and relaxing

  We enjoyed two wonderful nights. Jim and Nicole were so helpful. We were picked up at the ferry when we arrived. The space was beautiful and clean. It was so nice to sit by the water and enjoy a quiet morning. We hope to visit again next year!
