  Good Value

  Hotel exceeded expectations. Spacious room, clean and the heating was available (cold spell of weather during our stay). Good breakfast.Very friendly and helpful staff.We visit family in the area and will be using this hotel as a base again.

  Needs some TLC

  The staff were really polite and very helpful. The breakfast was freshly cooked and not sitting around on hot plates. The room was large. The bedding was clean but the duvet had obviously been washed and all the stuffing was clumped in balls. The quilt was also a winter one about 7 inches thick, which made for a very warm uncomfortable night. There was no bath mat and only 2 hand towels and 2 bath towels. When this was mentioned we were brought a rubber mat. The décor in the hotel need to be re done lots of, what looks like damp patches in the room and in the bar. Not the worst place we've stayed but not the best either. A little bit of TLC and it could be a real stunner.

  Needs a refresh

  My husband and I stayed 1 night. We stopped by to see family on our way north. At first glance things looked acceptable. Then we found a bag of trash sitting on the windowsill in our room. Small things like no bath mat and loose safety rails in the shower (glad neither of us was relying on it for balance!) began to add up. The Blaby definitely needs refurbishing. We wouldn't stay here again. We did not eat here so cannot comment on food.

  Good location.

  We stayed one night in the hotel as we were going to a family party at the vipers rugby club which was only a short distance from the hotel. Very clean room. Comfortable bed. Iron and ironing board in the room which was perfect for last minute shirt press. Shower was over the bath and very clean. I was a little scared getting out of the shower as no hand rail to grab for safety. The handrail was near the shower head. Not much noise at night so had a good night sleep. Great English breakfast! Great staff.

  80TH BIRTHDAY PARTY

  We have just a fabulous gathering of family and friends for a 80th birthday celebration. The buffet and bar facilities were excellent, all fresh food with vegan and vegetarian food also supplied. All the staff were so helpful and pleasant and made us feel so welcome. A few of us stayed overnight, en suite rooms were comfortable and spacious with tv, coffee/tea making facilities, trouser press and in a quiet area for good sleep. A good time was had by us all.
