Very niceIt is our second stay at the hotel. Nice rooms. Nice Internet! And very nice people. Don't cheat yourself not having breakfast! Very good. We'll be back! The hotel is just a few minutes walk downtown and parking is just outside. Enjoy your stay!

Beware, travelers:The main problem with this hotel is that half of its rooms look directly onto railroad tracks on which there frequent passenger and freight trains during the day, less frequently at night, 2 or 3 times, but enough to wake you up brutally (see photo) even with the windows shut. Otherwise, there was a third bed which we did not need in our room and which made the space available at the desk quite cramped, and no one cleaned our bathroom, made our beds or washed our teacups between our first and second (only) nights. The breakfast was no better than that of the two other hotels we had just stayed at and paid less for. The location of the hotel is convenient for visiting the sights of the town.

Cosy and welcomingWe arrived by train and the hotel is about a 6 minute walk from the station, with luggage. It is a little hard to find as it is tucked away in a corner, but we enlisted the help of two kind traffic wardens, who escorted us to the hotel. There are some steps involved in reaching the hotel or there is a step-free, slightly longer route. We received a very warm welcome from the owner who willingly answered all our questions. As the owner is Austrian, the hotel rooms all have Austrian names. Ours was the Salzburg room, overlooking the carport and beyond, and this was a pleasant, homely room. There was a huge picture of Salzburg above the bed. We appreciated the tea/coffee facilities, the fridge and the heated bathroom floor. There were plenty of power points. Yes, the hotel is next to the railway line but that didn't bother us. We didn't need to use the supplied earplugs! The free WiFi was reliable and easy to use with the code supplied. We can't comment on breakfast as it was served from 8am to 10am, which was a little late for us as we needed to be up and away each morning to take full advantage of a winter's day. The township is just down the road and trams are close by. The wonderful lake, which was partly iced over during our visit, is also close by and pleasant to walk around. We were there during the Christmas markets which were quite extensive and very busy. They include a ferris wheel and an ice skating rink. A walk around the old town is interesting. Schwerin is a lovely place to visit and our accommodation was most acceptable.

Lovely little hotel.A charming bio hotel on the edge of the city centre and near the train station. Easy to get to the whole centre in 5 minutes. Breakfast is really nice and personal. All the usual but he will also adjust to suit you and all the food is organic. Owner also speaks English. It's next to the railway but the windows are double glazed and neither of us noticed them as the more or less stop after 11pm. He also provides ear plugs in every room if you are worried.

Train wrecks nightWe spend just one night at the hotel. Enough to say that the trains wreck your night, especially when your room is on the side of the track. The day was hot and the room rather warm, so no sleep possible with windows closed - but no sleep possible with the trains driving through your room. Will not come back.
