  Beach house for surprise birthday

  My husband surprised me with a romantic weekend away, started off with a ferry trip over to Sorrento and spend the day at the hot springs, amazing! Then we found our way to the accommodation, I didn't know what to expect as he really loves camping so thought it may be glamping, but when we pulled up to the big blue backyard and we walked along the path to our beach house, OMG! Lets just say you couldn't get more romantic, beautiful, peaceful and I felt so spoiled. After the day at the springs we arrived to a grazing platter that filled us and was so yummy. I am gluten free and Lisa and Paul catered for that brilliantly. We could hear the waves crashing and went exploring. Beach isn't at your back door but you get to explore through bushland and then through the state forest and down onto the beach following the rock's that Paul had laid out. It was a fairly easy walk max 10 mins and the beach is beautiful. After our adventure we stayed in for the night as we really didn't want to leave the hut. I took advantage of the outside spa bath with lots of bubbles, so romantic! the bed was very comfortable, the shower was great, there is nothing that I would say needs changing. Even thougth I didn't get to met Paul and Lisa, they run a very luxurious and romantic business. 10 out of 10 I have to end it with My husband Rocks

  Lovely

  I stayed at Big Blue Backyard with a friend for two nights in the newly renovated "Ocean" room. We felt relaxed as soon as we walked in. Every single little detail was thought about; personalised notes, soft background music, a fully stocked fridge with breakfast, dinner and a bottle of wine. The king size bed was huge and very comfortable - we slept so well. The hot springs are less than a 10 minute drive away (definitely recommend), as are breweries and wineries, and the beach is just a short walk. We stopped at the main house for a chat with Lisa and Paul who were lovely and gave us towels for the hot springs so we wouldn't have to pay once we were there. Could not fault a thing at Big Blue Backyard - the ultimate relaxing getaway. Thank you so much Lisa and Paul for making our stay so unforgettable.

  LISA is the most caring host we've ever had!

  Big Blue Backyard is a mixture of an enchanting beach getaway and rustic safari. Run by a couple with beautiful and caring souls. Its just like youre visiting your family in their beautiful holiday house! Perfect amount of space. The outdoor area is spacious and beautifully laid out. Comfort & Privacy As their website would mention, each of the suites truly feels like your very own hideaway. Complimentary Products/Services The kitchenette is fully stocked with beautiful local wines and all the ingredients youll need for a delicious breakfast or morning barbeque. The shower and outdoor tub are also accompanied by lush bath products to satisfy all your spa needs. Views The suites are perfectly tucked away amongst the plants and trees. Its like looking out into an enchanted hidden forest. And if you listen carefully youll hear the roaring waves of the sea. There is a reason why this place is listed on the Mr & Mrs Smith!

  Its all about nature

  From the moment you park your car you feel that you have been transported to another world . Hidden away in the bush with a very comfortable fit out you will find everything you need within to sustain you for a couple days of personal indulgence. We went for the full package & the supplies were both ample & of the highest quality . Most of it , where possible , being locally sourced . One of the many highlights was the generous outdoor spa . To be able to relax under the canopy of the Ti Trees with a glass ( or 2 ) of delicious local wine was beyond sublime . A quick rinse off under the outdoor shower completed the experience . We walked along the clearly marked dune path to the beautiful , wild national park to the beach & found we had it all to our selves ! What a rare & treasured experience this was against a background of the foaming , wild ocean & the big black sky . Just so dramatic , it made us really appreciate the natural beauty & peace of this outstanding location . We only had a couple of days available to regenerate & recharge the batteries , so to speak , this gave us all of that in spades . Really , theres nowhere else quite like it .

  Anniversary getaway

  The Big Blue Backyard, St. Andrews property provides a lovely atmosphere. The surrounding nature and sea make the perfect getaway for a romantic weekend away. I would recommend this venue for anyone wanting to have time out of their usual schedule.
