  Lovely Hotel and Staff

  We arrived early, I was traveling with an elderly lady who was very tired our room was ready so we were able to go straight to the room before the check-in time, the room was spotless and very comfortable. The two receptionists were very helpful and friendly I asked for milk as there is none in the rooms and we were given a jug of fresh milk with no problems. Breakfast was fantastic a big variety of lovely things to eat and the two waitresses were amazing and very friendly and really very helpful, I am not sure why one of the reviews said that anyone was irritated I did not find this to be so. The fresh orange juice machine was operated by one of the waitresses but this was to be helpful rather than anything else and I did see other guests using the machine with no problems. Evening meals were very nice and again served with a smile and a chat even though my French is very poor. the waitresses worked from early morning to late at night very hard working and always managed to smile and be very friendly with us and we always managed to be understood by everyone at the Hotel. We sometimes tend to forget that we are traveling to different countries and language is often difficult a little patience is required. If I had one small critic it would be that perhaps there should be twin beds on the ground floor as there is no lift to the first floor and my friend who is 83 found the stairs a little hard to manage every day having said that the Hotel did not know this in advance and we should have explained to them when we booked. We found everyone very helpful and the little town very beautiful, the scenery is breathtaking and gorgeous, Drive carefully the roads are narrow and very twisting but worth the views.   Hotel in a very pleasant village by the sea!

  Staff were great especially waiting staff at dinner. There was a tall young lady in particular with long hair who was patient and did a professional job at dinner. Breakfast room could be a little cramped but the spread was adequate. Room was clean with tea making facilities. Peaceful and quiet but got a little warm in the night.

  Lazy Days

  Stayed for 7nights at this laid back family run hotel just off the harbour in Macinaggio. Rooms were of a good size with comfortable beds and a balcony for us smokers .The hotel food was as you would expect excellent with three .course meals for 29 euro.staff were friendly spoke English. Hotel pool was excellent with enough sunbeds for all .The hotel has a resident dog who seemed to spend hour sleeping in the reception ,this maybe a problem if youdont like/allergic to dogs .Great lazy week and a good location to explore this part of Corsica

  Very Nice Hotel

  We arrived late, had not decided If we should proceed to a larger village, but ended up in macinaghju. A very small but very nice little fishing village. Hotel U Ricordu is very nice, IT is very quiet, the rooms are very nice, and most of them have a small balcony. The reception desk was very helpful and they speak both German and English. Highly recommended.

  Very disappointing please be aware

  Hotel swimming pool use by local schools for swimming lessons on Monday pool used for 3sessions one in the morning two in the afternoon (hourly sessions) Tuesday 1000 am writing this at 1138 and expecting the same for every school day this week. Children change around pool or in a bush area. Second pool on property for10 rooms exclusive use opened if wanted but just a plunge pool with two umbrellas. 60 rooms in the hotel. No schedule for kids swimming lesson told "the school just rings and let us know they are coming". First session 1000am (no quite lay in), no mention on website or booking. No mention on arrival. Ms be a seasonal thing but not 4 star expectations or facilities.
