  No Coffee?! Are you kidding me?

  If I would have known that this place came with the worst continental breakfast and no coffee in the lobby, I would have stayed somewhere else! Believe it or not, this is a big part of the experience of lodging in a 3 star hotel. I will be demanding some kind of discount. Since I will be paying additional money to eat out. Get your $hit together, do better-or lower your rates. Also, no stir sticks for the $hitty coffee in the room. Pretty view though...the only thing holding me back from freaking out, due to my weak coffee and hunger pangs!

  Excellent room for an excellent price

  We had the end unit facing the lake. It was just lovely. extra large room with very tall ceilings. It was so stately - it felt like were in a presidential suite. I was also able to work from the desk while staring at the big lake. The bar and restaurant were open and we enjoyed a really nice meal and drinks at the bar. The staff were very friendly and engaging. The trail along the waterfront is right in front of the hotel. My husband and I used the trail every morning and walked to the coffee shop on the west end of town. Just lovely.

  Excellent Experience

  We stayed at this property for a weekend get away. The service was excellent. We were warmly greeted on check-in and the process was quick. Our room had a beautiful view of the lake--was clean and spacious. With the warm weather, we were able to enjoy the outdoor space. The bartender was courteous and attentive. Our food was also excellent. The deck area overlooking the lake was a great place to relax. The hotel continues to serve breakfast, implementing precautions and providing a server to reduce contact. Highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting the Ashland area.

  Beauty

  The hotel was beautiful as well as the scenery. They made our experience less stressful in these COVID times. The hotel and our room was very clean which made us feel more relaxed. The setting of the hotel was wonderful. Right on Lake Superior. The decor was amazing.

  Disappointing

  We stayed here in December and loved our visit. We had a lake view king room and everything was great! However we stayed here now and had a city view room. Very different. The room was unbelievably hot!! The thermostat is locked up and unless u put on air it was sweltering. I understand it was extremely cold outside but let people adjust their own room. Also very noisy, sound of motor of some sort running all night. It is a beautiful place but I recommend staying lakeside. Pay the extra, worth it.
