  NIce Location

  Nice location, staff friendly, but after waiting 40 mins had to ask what was going on, the place wasn't that busy, and it was lunchtime. There was 7 of us with a variety of food, but the delay was a bit frustrating. However, once it arrived the food was good.

  Long weekend break.

  The hotel looks and is a little tired and would benefit from a good 'tidy up' both inside and out. Everywhere was clean and as Coronavirus is very much with us the hotel provides hand sanitiser at various public area locations including just outside the entrance door. Our room was dated but clean and a good size, it was warm in the room without any heating. The double bed was comfortable and a little too firm for my wife, we slept well. The soundproofing - if there is any? was poor and we could hear tv noise from a neighbouring room and every walking movement from the room above. The waitress at dinner expressed how busy she was but the service she provided was very good and we have no complaints at all. However, at breakfast on Saturday the 22nd of August as the same waitress was sering breakfast we seemed to wait a while and suddenly we could hear the chef ranting and shouting at the top of his voice and we could hear almost every word he bellowed including Fu**ing! Apparently there had been an issue with tickets not going through. That would be our only complaint during our stay. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant. Our dinner on our first night was excellent including the desserts. The area is beautiful and there are several places to visit locally, Bath I would say is a glorious place to spend a day and only a short drive from the Compass Inn. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and would happily recommend this hotel. Good staff, food and location.

  Lovely people, good food

  Lovely people, good food, comfortable bed in a good sized room - a very nice place to stay at an economical rate. it is also within easy reach of some lovely places. And the breakfast was great too. Thank you.

  Perfect stop on cotswold way

  Our last night of 6 on the Cotswold Way and one of our favourites. Felt really clean, and was well equipped. Sitting outside with a drink in the evening sun was perfect, a highlight of our trip. Helpful staff and easy check in and out if you've prepaid.

  Not good...terrible

  Would never, ever stay here again, ever...ever, ever, ever. I will never get these 15 hours back and i resent them for their deception. Have a look at your photos Compass Inn and admit the rouse. Disgraceful.
