  Very Nice

  Lovely building and friendly staff. Room was nice and clean with everything one would require at hand. Breakfast was fresh and abundant. The hotel is located centrally and is close to bars, restaurants etc.

  Great centrally located hotel

  I had the good fortune to stay at the zimmerhof hotel last week. As i was on business it is located in a great location, right in the centre of town next to the new restaurants, and bars of lier. The room as excellent, a very comfy bed, English television and a large bathroom with power shower. The breakfast and coffee were plentiful and freshly prepared with the option of cooked or continental available. The only bad thing was the wifi in my room was non existent which became a problem for completing my work on returning to the hotel. All in all a good hotel and would most definitely visit again.

  Lovely hotel

  Stayed for 3 nights on a business trip. Rooms are clean & well presented, the TV had some UK channels too. The staff are polite, very helpful & speak very good English. Breakfasts are good too with many choices including cereal, egg & bacon, & a continental selection.

  Amazing, must stay in lier

  There is nothing but only good things I can say about this hotel. It is just off the Main Street, the staff are probably the most welcoming and friendly staff I have ever encountered. The room was spotless with plenty to offer, bath, minibar, tea/coffee facilities. If you come to lier this is the place to stay. Breakfast included and plentiful. Need I say more

  Bad location, bad staff

  Im reading the reviews on this hotel and they are overwhelmingly positive. However, our experience was very different. We are a couple that travel regularly. Were not hard to please but we have some serious reservations about the hotel which we would like to share: (1) Unbelievably rude receptionist We were still in bed at 10AM and the cleaner tried to open the door without knocking. We had the door locked and also had a key chain. I called out repeatedly that we were in the room and the cleaning lady kept trying to open it. She started shouting at us in French (not Dutch!) so we didnt understand but it sounded angry. About 10 minutes later I got a call from the receptionist. Do you want your room cleaned yes or no Yes but we wont be gone for about an hour I replied. I repeat: it was 10AM. You wont get your room cleaned then, the cleaner is finished. She will leave towels outside your door. I explained what has just occurred with the cleaning lady trying to come in without knocking and shouting at us. I could not believe the response I was about to receive. Never. I know her and she would never do that. Im sorry. Never happened I just said ok and hung up. (2) Added I wanted extras Upon arrival, the receptionist told us there would be a 30 surcharge to the room because there were two of us and not one, as was stated on our booking. She said dont worry you can give it to us before you leave. I checked my booking and it said that we had booked it for two people. When I brought this to the attention of the receptionist on check out, she said that the hotel had upgraded us even though we hadnt agreed to this and they refunded us the SIXTY euro, not thirty, that they had ALREADY taken out of my account. (3) Inconvenient location To get from this hotel to Antwerp city centre, you need to walk for 15 minutes to the train station, wait around for a 20 minute train, then walk 20 minutes to Antwerp Grote Markt. Its just not ideal if looking for a nice place to stay in Antwerp. Save your time and money by staying in a nice hotel in Antwerp. If you would like to see Lier, take a day trip on the train.
