  Nice people, nice place

  Our truck broke down & we spent 2 nights here. Night staff was great with mechanic name & address. Rate was good, room was good. People were great. Conveniently located beside a Kwik Stop which had a Subway. Laundry facility on site. Breakfast had different food each morning. Nice to see variety.

  Room Was Not Cleaned

  We got in late at night due to road tripping. I had called earlier to say I would be in at 11 pm, and they had the room ready. We got to the room, and there was trash in the garbage cans, dirt on the counters, beds unmade, mirrors not clean, beds unmade and no toiletries. They offered to switch rooms and at this time at was 11:30 pm and we (our three kids and my husband and I) were exhausted. I asked for some sort of refund and they said we had to check back in the morning. I talked with them in the morning, and they offered me a $20 refund. I was shocked and astonished. We were on a two-week road trip, and this was by far the worst hotel I have seen on the whole trip and likely in years. I highly do not recommend this place.

  Smells like Teen Spirit!

  Ha, not! The second I walked into the building fo rthe 300 level ooms, I could smell the mildrew scent. Although my room wasa clean and neat, with a nice note from the wonders? or cleaning people? I have no idea, even though it was a nice gesture, the mildew smell was most bothersome. It wasn't the room, its the building. I did not smell this in the main office. I travel a lot, this isn't my frequent hotel choice, it was the only available in Grinnel so I thought per Orbizt. I could have stayed in one of the other five up the road and I think I wold have been happier. Im here only for one evening so I won't beitch too much, but I am not happiy about the smell at lal. The other thing, I expected to be in the main building near the pool and gym, but there was no availability even though I requested main floor, neat pool and gym, that wasn't even an option when I got there. Not the hotels fault, that was Orbitz, I spoke to them on several occassions to straighten out the mess with the reservation. I won't be staying here again if I come ot this client again. Maybe I am a little bougee, I am a Diamond at Hilton's but there isn't one miles from here. so, it is what it is........ Ill check out the Wyndham properties since i have a time share and get a discount, but only learned that was an option afte the fact. Not happy and Hope I don't smell or my clothes like mildew when I visit my client tomorrow.

  Room not cleaned and bad services

  After check-in, entering in the room we found it not cleaned. This was the last room available, and no cleaning could be performed before the following day. No apology nor attempt to help us finding another hotel was proposed to us. The front desk agent apparently did not care. We finally found on our own another hotel room available (45 mn drive, away from our route, and 50% more expensive). I wrote a complain to the manager, but still no feedback after one week. Just unacceptable ! I will never come back in a Best Western.

  Great pet friendly stay

  Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Clean pet friendly rooms. Pool was open, but heat wasnt working - water was VERY cold. We were notified at check in, but not during booking. We selected this location so our daughter could swim.
