    Dirty room.

Stayed for a weekend here. We called beforehand as the news was heavily covering reports of high rates of coronavirus in the area and the government was considering imposing tier 3 restrictions. I was reassured that they were open and they were taking extra measures to ensure everything was clean to minimise the risk of infection. I arrived quite late so dropped the bags off then went to get something to eat and when we returned, we settled for the night. It was at that point that we found left over snacks from the previous guests on the floor. Now i would not class myself as finicky but considering the circumstances (coronavirus) and the reassurance given previous to going i found this concerning. The following morning we called the reception to let them know that we had been given a room, that had not been cleaned adequately and they told us they would send someone to clean it. This never happened, however there was some toilet roles that were left on the side - so possibly that was the cleaning regime? Its a shame as the location and facilities were okay but unfortunately if the room is dirty i can't feel completely comfortable especially in the current climate. The hotel clearly reassured us to get us there.

    Lockdown Craziness!!!

Booked this hotel for my hubbys birthday in May 2020 but due to lockdown couldnt attend, couldnt cancel and refund as they had been taken over in between so arranged a stay 21/10/2020 - We originally booked the all inclusive deal giving us room, dinner unlimited drinks, breakfast and late check out. After reading the reviews and after Boris locked us down again wasnt really feeling the visit but decided to go anyway. Reception staff on checking in was lovely, very friendly and calming in these odd times - explained where everything was that we needed and booked our evening meal. Due to new lockdown restrictions we knew our all inclusive drinks were a no go so took a bottle of wine with us and a few beers for the room . The room was clean, extremely large in size ( think we may have had a cheeky free upgrade ) We went for our evening meal and was greeted by Angela shown to our table and she got us some drinks... whilst we looked at the menu, We ordered starters and mains and honestly couldnt fault the food, hats off to the chef. Angela knew what deal I had paid for and due to the pandemic wasnt skinny with the drinks at meal time in the restaurant and as the bar was closed and we couldn't sit in the bar and order as many free drinks as we wanted on the all inclusive package, gave us an extra drink at the end; she was so friendly and really attentive in what must be an awful situation. We slept really well (possibly due to the extra wine at the end, cheers Angela) and woke for breakfast. Couldnt fault breakfast at all again hats off to the chef and our server was again so lovely. All hygiene measures for the virus adheared to, masks on walking around, hand sanitiser stations throughout and staff made us feel really chilled whilst in the hotel. I just wish you guys were busier, it was really sad to see you so quiet but hopefully after this is all over things will pick back up. But honestly, a lovely stay so nice to get away and huge recognition to Angela she made our evening meal such a lovely, friendly experience!!!

    Very basic and run down

we stayed 1 night to split the trip from South to Scotland therefore the only requirements for us were to be in the middle of the country, close to the motorway junction, which this hotel satisfied. We were given "village" room which is a cottage-type accommodation with room entrance from the street. it was family room with double bed and 2 separate single beds. Room decor was quite old, so was bathroom. Water flow from the shower was almost non-existent. But it was quiet, dark and did the trick. It was not very obvious how to leave the hotel as you had to backtrack over single track road around some hangars to get back to the main road.

    Incredible staff, awesome food.

Me and my husband took our 6 year old granddaughter here for the night on the 24th October. The look of the whole place is so impressive. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful. The receptionist kind and efficient. Easy check in, easy check out. We stayed in room 39 ( a little chalet ) one double bed, 2 single. The rooms could do with updating, but the beds where comfortable. We stayed on a breakfast and evening meal stay The food was incredible, the service was amazing We had 3 courses all of which were delicious. Served by a lady with a bright energy and warm smile ( purple haired lady ) Couldnt have asked for a warmer greeting or service. The breakfast was equally as good, full English, orange juice, lashings of toast and an Americano coffee. We was served by a lady called Christine, this lady was so kind and attentive, she really did make us feel so at home and comfortable. These two ladies made our stay, and are a pure credit to the hotel. Most of the time we find we need to go abroad for this kind of service, now we know its just on our doorstep right at a best western, we will make a habit of booking more of the same. Hopefully all of the best western hotels have the same kind of staff, because its them that make the stay, them and the quality of the food served ( Thank you chef for the Eton mess and the pork in apple sauce... not forgetting the delicious fish cakes.. yum!! The spa was fab, your given towels and a token for your locker. Will definitely look at other Best western hotels now....... we are impressed.

    Lovely room and pool

Lovely hotel, with apartments and different sized rooms all around it , had lovely layout with bandstand in courtyard. Pool and jacuzzi were great and had a smaller pool for kids .breakfast was very basic and bed was so uncomfortable and squeaky that I ended up sleeping on the sofa bed.
