First Class MealWe ate at the Copper Beech restaurant recently. It was still doing the eat out to help out deal so we decided to meet an old neighbour there as she had been talking highly of the place. We decided to book a table and Im quite glad we did as the restaurant filled up very quickly. What we had to eat was very good and the service was of the usual high standard. The bill came to £42 for 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 drinks. It should have been £72, so theres a massive saving to be had due to the promotion. I would certainly visit Hetland Hall again for a meal, it was good value for money. The COVID regulations were well observed by everyone one as well, which was good to see.

Christmas stayMyself and a friend stayed last night. The hotel is beautiful and has clearly had a lot of money spent on it. The rooms were perfect however there were some aspects of our stay which were not up to the standards they should be. Firstly, at dinner we were given a menu with no prices on it except some items had a surcharge. At this point we are thinking that we must be on a DBB basis. We ordered food, ate our starter and still did not have our drinks yet. At this point we asked again for our drinks which then took a further 10 minutes to come. We were eating our main course before the bottle of Prosecco arrived. I dont often drink prosecco with a meal so unsure about this part but it was just put down on the table and we had to open the bottle ourselves (I would have thought it would have been opened and poured for us especially at £28.50 a bottle, I might be wrong on this part though). I ordered sticky toffee pudding for dessert - there was nothing sticky or toffee about it it was a dry sponge full of raisins so I did not eat this and when the waitress asked if the desserts were ok I advised her it was not, she offered to get me something else (which I gather I would have had to pay for and I did not like any of the other desserts so I declined this) but still got charged £6.50 for an inedible dessert. We got the bill and queried why the menu had no prices on it to be told by the waitress we had been given the wrong menu!! We then went to the hotel bar to have a drink and we asked to order drinks - it was 10 minutes before anyone came to take our order and we had to fetch the drinks menu for ourselves. The hotel is beautiful but the service definitely lets the hotel down. All in all I feel disappointed by the service and feel it should have been of a much higher standard. I have eaten here many times which was lovely but wouldnt rush back again.

40th Birthday MealPoor selection of beer on tap, my husband got a pint of lager with a 5 inch head on it. Starters were poor, tempura batter unseasoned. My main meal was £15 beef stroganoff, it was awful, steak was tough and I got a tablespoonful of rice. First and last visit, very expensive for poor food.

festive menudined in restaurant Sunday 13/12. Service was very efficient, speedy delivery of amazing food. Turkey was so soft and succulent. Presentation of all three courses was worthy of 5 stars. Highly recommend the hotel for food. I have had fish & chips previously which was the best I have ever tasted. Fabulous location, fabulous service well done to all staff.
