  Great place and people

  Had a great stay here this weekend. Really lovely place and down to Earth. Big shout out to Daley, Lisa and Georgia who made it so enjoyable. The chilli cheese bites were immense! Great staff, great place (and is wearing flip flops really worthy of a bad review?) not in my opinion!

  one night stay

  We stayed here for a one night stay, and could not fault the stay. All the staff were very pleasant, friendly, and coping well with the restrictions! Breakfast was a hearty full english, lovely and hot, and well cooked. The room was clean, comfy and warm, only drawback the bed did not seem very large for a king double! Overall would reccomend.

  No atmosphere, no service

  Checking in was slow and painful with the most miserable uninterested receptionist. Breakfast was inedible all under cooked and cold, the waiter had bad odour and took 4 attempts to get us a hot hot drink. The whole place lacked the magic the photo's promised and it was cold throughout the site for most of our stay. Only redeeming feature was the lovely lady on the desk when we checked out.

  Should've read the reviews!

  What an awfully run place! It's the sort of place you'd see on hotel rescue! Bedrooms are small and shabby, the lobby is a construction sight and the bar and restaurant service is beyond terrible! I asked if they were normally so quiet and was told it's because of the local lockdowns! You're deluding yourselves!! I can't remember the last place I saw on TripAdvisor with more terrible reviews than good!!

  DO NOT STAY HERE!

  Do not stay here!! Possibly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in... And I've stayed in Asian hostels! So we booked a weekend away on wowcher, described as idyllic, relaxing even royal! 2 nights bottle of bubbles and a romantic 2 course meal.... Lovely!!!! We arrived and walked into the lobby which had a a working building site inside, it was dated and there was noone at the desk, waited about 5 minutes and someone arrived and checked us in. Got into out room which looked like it hadn't been decorated in 20 years, broken furniture and light fittings. We were described as having meadow or river views..... I had a view of a Citreon van in the car park and anyone going for a fag during the night. We decided to see what our 2 course meal was like...... It was worse than a school dinner, frozen food, nothing available on menu, no knowledge of diatery requirements etc. It came out over cooked and inedible we left promptly without desert! We complained to the front desk then, the staff member actually admitted to me how bad the hotel is! Next day we checked out early with a long list of things asking for a call from the manager. I was never phoned back and after calling them was told the manager wasn't around and noone knows when he will be back! I then a couple hours later recieve a call from the lady at the desk not the manager telling me she would refund me £60 of my £190 stay after removing admin fees! Hotel and staff are unprofessional and are lying on their description! I have contacted trading standards, wowcher and my bank to report the hotel. Still waiting for a call from the manager to actually discuss my issues with me!
