Air Conditioners, Plumbing Systems need to be updatedStopped by here on Saturday just gone, it was a hot day, and with a brick Motor Inn, we were looking forward to checking in and to be able to use the Air Conditioner inside our room. We entered the car park right around at the back of the Motel Reception and adjacent to that was a nice small park, which we later found out was named Wattle Square. Walking in our room was met with hot air inside the room, we made our way to put on the Air Conditioning, only to find that the previous person had mucked up the settings beforehand. We then spent the next 15 mins trying to get some sort of cool air inside the room. It was like being inside a hot cooker! We could only manage a slow trickle of cool air. We decided to go out, but couldnt leave the conditioner on as their system is to pull out the key that sits on a slot on a wall and it disconnects lights, conditioners etc. we went and spent a couple of hours outside and had some dinner. On returning back to the Motel, we entered our room and it was boiling hot, we had to leave the front door open for at least an hour to get some sort of cool air into the room. The conditioner then started to get going, and but only through sheer determination of trying to work out the controls, as there were no written instructions on how to operate it. Next item was the shower, we found that the hot water is way too hot, but as soon as you turn on the cold water and reduce the amount it stays Luke warm, you have to keep readjusting it until you can a get a decent flow of hot water. For a price of this room, which was well over $100, I would say it be fair to update your conditioners and plumbing systems, and to provide good quality Toilet Paper, as the one in the bathroom is too thin and cheap.

A very unpleasant experienceI booked & paid for a Deluxe Queen room & requested a room that didnt face the main road. After I paid, I found my room was at the very front of a line of rooms that ran down the length of the property (away from the main road). So even though it wasnt one of the 6 facing the road it was very close to being on the main road - my photos illustrate how close my room was to the front of the property. I returned to reception, to ask if I could move to a room to the rear of the property for my 2nd night as these are not on the main road into Bendigo as I could see the motel was full that night and moving rooms wouldnt be an option. I reminded the lady Id requested not to be in a room on the main road and she advised me I had asked for a room that didnt face the main road and my room didnt. I said Id come to reception the next morning to see about a room move. The noise from the road continued throughout the night - its relentless although it does ease. Also, when I checked my booking & the room options at this motel, I realised Id been allocated a family room that had a double bed and 2 single beds; there was no resemblance to the Deluxe Queen room Id booked and paid for (I didnt need 3 beds). See my photo where it is nothing like the advertised Deluxe Queen rooms for instance, it has a double bed! The next morning I went to reception & experienced one of the most unpleasant encounters Ive ever had at a motel/hotel. The woman on reception was different & her name tag read Manager. I calmly explained that I was concerned Id booked a Deluxe Queen room & Id been allocated a Family Room, her response was your room is a deluxe queen room. I mentioned my request for a room away from the main road & was told the motel is on a main road. I mentioned the rooms that were away from the road & asked for one of these for my 2nd night and was told were fully booked. I suggested we had 2 options, I could move rooms or Id have to leave. I was told to leave. I said Id already paid & was told you havent paid I replied I had paid but again she said I hadnt so I showed her my bank statement on my phone. I didnt receive an apology when it was found I had paid. Bendigo is a charming city and worth visiting but I dont recommend staying at this motel.

Great place close to the CBDGreat motel within easy walking distance of the CBD, restaurants and many attractions. Good location to base a walking day or two of Bendigo. Parking was off street and easily accessible. No road noise so any room would be ok.

Location LocationStayed in this family friendly motel recently when visiting Bendigo to catch up with family. The lady at the front reception was friendly and efficient, giving us a good deal. She recommended some options for dining that night and her main choice of the National Hotel was spot on. Rooms were clean , comfortable and cool as it was hot outside. The motel is in walking distance to shops, cafes and tourist attractions. Good couple of days.

Best Western Cathedral Bendigo, a great location and good night sleepA great location and good night sleep. Lush green outlook from my room and so easy to walk into town to see the sights or eat. Fantastic updated rooms with simple, clean, contemporary interiors, large bathroom with room to move. Excellent plump pillows and a big comfy bed in a very quiet room (Deluxe Queen room 8).
