  Pleasant stay thanks to the staff

  The hotel is close to the historical center of Istanbul, aprox. 2 mins from the T1 Bagcilar- Kabatas T1 Tram line, 10 mins by foot from the Grand Bazaar and 20 mins by foot from Sultanahmet/Hagia Sofia. The rooms are a bit small and the corners on the bathrooms walls have mold. The walls should receive a new painting. The (otherwise free) WiFi only works well in the reception lobby and is laggy in the rooms above it (1st floor). From the second floor, the WiFi signal is not available (the reception staff told me that there are plans to install more WiFi routers to cover all the rooms). Nevertheless, is is a great stay for persons who do not wish to spend all day in the hotel room and prefer to go visiting. The service is EXCELLENT, all the staff members are very helpful, sincerely friendly and almost all of them speak great English. The terrace located at the top floor is a great place to spend some quality time and chat with your friends while enjoying a rich breakfast in the morning or a Efes beer in the evening. Recommended for solo travelers or group of friends for short stays (3-4 nights max). Not advisable for white collar business trips or families. On a scale from 1 to 10 I'd give it a 8 given the above regarding the staff.

  3 start Hotel, 5 start service.

  Great location and superb service. The location could not be better. Quite and central. Just 2 min walking to Kabatas tram Terminal, 5 min to Grand Bazar and 10-15 min walking to Sultan Hamed / Hagia Sofia. The staff in this hotel is great. They are really helpful and friendly and you can ask almost about everything thay will always have an positive answer. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to have a few days break visiting the city and not staying the whole day in the hotel. It is a 3 start hotel and this is what you get. Nothing else, nothing less.

  Worst Piran Hotel

  Unfortunately this hotel was not what we expected. Most of the staff didnt speak english (nor german/french etc.). The rooms are too small, there was not much space left to walk to the bathroom. Mold is on the bathrooms walls and our AC didnt work properly. In the nights it was very noisy because you could hear everybody on the aisle. Also for the first two days there was no room service, only after we asked about it. Only the location is very good, so you can reach everything in the old city by foot. For this amount of money you can expect more in Istanbul.

  Worst Piran Hotel, poor service

  Booking your stay in this hotel would be a huge mistake to make. The staff can not speak English and their customer service is awful. We initially booked two rooms, and on arrival one of the rooms they gave us was already occupied (very embarrassing for us and the people already in the room). The second room was not clean, due to the hotel failing to organise house keeping. The bedspreads were used, with hair remains and the bathroom had litter which created a fly infestation and a bad smell. Its the worst and unsanitary condiditions I have ever seen. The hotel were unable to offer us alternative rooms as they had overbooked. Staff were not helpful, unsympathetic and made our stay in Istanbul a disaster! I would strongly recommend for visitors to Istanbul to NOT stay in this hotel.
