Not the best.Lovely food, but dated place. Table and placemats old, battered and filthy. Drinks very expensive for what they were, and was given a 14oz Pepsi when asked for a Pint. Staff werent the best; taking plates away from us even when some of us were still eating. Desserts menu then pushed upon us. Customers packed on top of eachother, eating areas crammed full and the restaurant area is like a maze. Very disappointing.

Weekend StayFantastic food, weekend can be busy for Sunday lunch however I think this is a reflection of how good the food is. Homemade quality food, none of the frozen rubbish. Staff are pleasant and once we got to know them, you can see its a family run hotel which is nice and nothing too much bother. Room was clean and spacious, tea and coffee making facilities in the room, very pleasant, bathroom was spotless. Drink cost was as expected for a hotel, Carvery was £9.75 all you can eat and absolutely spot on. I few things need to be updated due to the age of the property however you can not fault this place. We even joined the Christmas event in the main hall, we were entertained with Soul Group and had a ball! I will defiantly come back and recommend

Fabulous carveryMy partner and i often visit here to make the most of the carvery on offer, it is so delicious and the staff are always helpful and polite, especially Gareth who serves the dinner, he is the most polite and makes us feel very welcome.

Anniversary StayWe stayed for two nights, due to the Convid-19 the staff coped very well. Rose and the rest of the staff worked hard, and nothing was to much trouble for them. Large Free Car Park with Disabled Access, also a ramp for a wheelchair etc up to the hotel. Then a lift too the first floor, which worked very well. We soon got booked in and went to our room, which was a nice surprise. ROOM: Was a nice size, beds clean and comfortable. Plenty of coffee, tea and milk on both days we were there, which we found very good because most places now only provide it on your first day. This is why we take are own coffee and tea with us. Hairdryer in the cupboard, which works very well. There is a flat screen TV, Iron Press and a clock. No Fan, Heater or Fridge, but maybe you can pay a deposit at reception for a Fan or Heater. BATHROOM: Was a nice size, Power shower over the bath which worked well. Nice clean white towels, which got changed each day. Hand and Shower Gel. BREAKFAST: Was very good, due to the Convid-19 the staff serve you, Rose was excellent and really new her job. Thank you Rose. CARVERY: We thought we would have the carvery for our Anniversary Meal, what a mistake that was. After everything else in the hotel which was excellent, this was very disappointing, and made my husband feel ill. Not good and expensive at £9.75. Beef, Turkey and Pork plus the new potatoes with skins on where ok. Part from that Yorkshire Puddings were like eating a crisp, all veg was over cooked and the Ponchmipe / Mash and Swede / Turnip was so salty. Roast Potatoes not sure what they were. We only ate the meat and two new potatoes, left the rest. Not sure if this is what you get when you stay there, but we saw other people with dishes with veg etc in, which looked a lot better then ours. Didn't say anything to them, maybe we should have, but everything else under the circumstance's was ok.
