  Lovely old-style hotel

  We chose to stay in Samedan rather than nearby St Moritz. Good choice! Samedan is a delightful, small town and St Moritz seemed soulless. It was very early in the season so many places hadnt yet opened. Hotel Bernina was almost empty but the staff were great. The breakfast buffet was astounding, in a magnificent room. The hotel is very close to the railway station but unaffected by noise. The restaurant was very good!

  Traditional friendly hotel in great hiking area .

  We have stayed here 4 times for a weeks holiday . Staff very helpful and friendly . Half board is a 5 course meal with choice of main course but they are very happy to change the menu if you don't like any courses . Food generally a good standard . The Engadine area comes with a free travel pass covering all local trains,buses,cable cars etc.so great access to the mountains . Buses connect to several cable cars from bus stop outside centrally placed hotel and the railway station is 10 minutes away . Scenery spectacular .

  Lovely older hotel in quiet town

  We loved the Hotel Bernina in Pontresina. We stayed there for 2 nights after riding the Bernina Express train from Lugano to Pontresina and before catching the Glacier Express in St Moritz. Highlights: they picked us up from the train station when we told them when we were arriving, we requested a mountain view room and got a large corner room with great views, the room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and all staff were very friendly and helpful. We seemed to be the only English-speaking guests, but that wasnt a problem.

  A Nice Hotel with a Great Staff

  Firstly, the map location that Trip Advisor has the hotel is incorrect. It is right in the middle of town at Via Maistra 207, about a block from the Alpine Museum. The hotel staff was very gracious and picked us up at the train station on our arrival. That kind of set the tone for the entire visit. They bent over backwards to assist us in planning our day in the area, bus schedules, restaurant reservation, etc...very helpful. Since we were staying 2 nights, they gave us cards that allowed free use of the bus, chairlift and cable car. They have their own restaurant which was VERY good. The rooms are very clean and attractive (we had a great view of the mountains on the top floor). A small elevator services the floors. The WiFi was a bit weak, but useable. The tasty breakfast was a typical large alpine offering, a tad expensive, but there is no where else nearby to get anything (the COOP grocer is about 3 blocks away). We really enjoyed this hotel and look forward to staying there again.

  Friendly hotel in Pontresina

  Nice comfortable hotel, very welcoming. Only hiccup is the car park during busy season. We did not realise we had to pay, and the outside carpark is very busy. We enjoyed a nice dinner and breakfast choice is good. Different breads to choose from, jams etc. Was a bit concerned about an over zealous waiter who did not wear a mask while serving dinner and came rather close to us, I had to ask him to move away. Otherwise a great place to stay.
