Warm & comfortable.I stayed here for one night in Dec 18 as I was going to a function in town & found it easier to stay than the long drive home. I arrived around 5.30pm & the front of the hotel was looking very festive with lights & decorations. I collected my key & found my room which was very warm & nicely decorated as was the rest of the hotel with some great old film posters. It was nice to sleep in a bed with good old fashioned sheets & blankets rather than the traditional duvet weve all become accustomed too! The bed was super comfy & I slept really well! I had to leave around 6.45am so didnt have time for breakfast so Im unable to comment on that. The only member of staff I delt with was the lady who welcomed me & gave me my key on arrival, she was very helpful & polite. Id have no hesitation in recommending this hotel & I will definitely stay there the next time Im in Ipswich.

Comfort and convenience. In this hotel my wife and I stayed two nights, we really enjoyed it. In all honesty, the two mornings we had breakfast it was the BEST breakfast we have ever had in any hotel anywhere-and we have stayed in some very, very good hotels! The landlady made us feel very much at home. Her son has decorated the whole place with sheer nostalgia, posters advertising just about every classic old film from a bygone era- wonderful!

DrearyOn arrival there was plenty of space to park the van. Check in was really quick. My room was really dated with a sink in it like something from the 60s it was really quite depressing. Bathroom was tiny with a toilet and shower cubicle. I could barely fit in the shower so unless your twiggy you may struggle to fit. I couldnt wait to get out for a couple of hours. We went to an excellent Indian 7 or 8 mins walk away. When we reluctantly returned we went to the bar which is dimly lit and depressing. Its the strangest bar Ive ever been too with barely anything behind it we said forget it and went back to our rooms. Breakfast was average but to be honest by then I just wanted to leave. Wouldnt want to stay again.

Clean, comfortable and friendlyOur room was clean and comfortable. Within walking distance (20 mins) to town and the Regent Theatre. Taxi home before midnight was only a fiver. The hotel is full of movie memorabilia which i found really nostalgic and cosy. The owners were welcoming and friendly, Id also recommend the breakfast - it was well worth the £7.50

Overnight stayWe stayed one night when going to the football. Arrived at 12 and were told rudely youre early- the room isnt ready. We didnt mind that we couldnt get in the room but there was no need for the rude attitude. We were told we hadnt parked correctly! The room was very small and the bathroom awful. The coffee sachets looked like theyd been there for years. No milk cartons . Carpet in hall filthy. When we checked out we werent even asked how our stay was. Will stick to travelodge or premier inns next time
