  Beautiful view of Lake Kivu

  Each morning, I stepped out on my balcony to view beautiful Lake Kivu and see if I could see the mountains in DR Congo. What a wonderful way to start the morning. The rooms wee spacious and comfortable and the food excellent. The only problem was on and off Internet services which were not very good even when they were on. If they got that fixed, it would give it a 5!

  Excellent for a conference in Gisenyi

  The exceptionally helpful staff at the Belvedere made our experience of running a training workshop here a delight. The conference facilities are excellent. We had 20 or so participants, but the room could easily cope with 60 or even 80. Several of our team commuted every day from Goma, crossing the border from the DRC. The food was fresh and delicious and staff always courteous and helpful. They really put themselves out to make sure that we were happy. The hotel is a short ride on a taxi moto or 10-15 minutes' walk out of town. It has an amazing view over the buy, with the Serena below and the mountains of Kivi in the distance. The internet signal came and went, so we resorted to using pre-paid mobile internet modems.

  Two nights stay in Belvedere

  I've arrived in the hotel quite late, so had no chance to see too much of the landscape view, but certainly the hotel made up for it. You arrive through a parking lot, from which the hotel looks really nice with ambient lights here and there, lots of plants etc. The rooms are of a decent standard, certainly quite good for Rwanda outside Kigali. No internet in the hotel (obviously) when I was there. Did have a nice meal, although nothing non-standard for Rwandese hotels.

  Interesting architecture, Fantastic view of Lake Kivu, Overpriced

  The Belvedere has a very interesting architecture and a very grand view of Lake Kivu. The 100 dollar rooms are good too, so I have heard. But the 50 dollar room was worth maybe 20. Very soft bed, gloomy furniture etc so you stay in such a room only once.
