  Perfect mountain retreat

  We had a quick one night romantic birthday getaway at the lodge. We stayed in the mountain retreat and it was absolutely divine. So luxurious with every detail considered. The new pool area is gorgeous and the views are spectacular. The Hilltop restaurant is so lovely. We cant wait to come back in winter.

  Diplomacy & Incompetency

  I had endeavoured to keep from writing on this forum, hoping that a letter sent to the owner would suffice. Alas, no response. My son and I stayed here, impromptu, January 12. A typical small town motel-cum-good. Daggy around the edges, but palpable effort made: renos to the kidney pool, a bar and Sydney chefs of Aria-lineage in command at the restaurant. All promising. Alas, I drove under the roof over the vestibule to reception, resplendent with two bikes on the roof racks. My idiocy. $6500 to car, the result. The receptionist, thoroughly skilled, did her best to assuage my anxiety. Wonderful! My only observations: no warning signs at apex of vestibule; a service buddy parked illegally in the left-hand lane upon entering the hotel. Subsequently, one is forced to come into the premises via the right-hand lane against oncoming traffic. In doing so, missing the small métrage indicator placed on the ground. Without trying to shirk responsibility or threaten legal action, I indicated the need to rectify these oversights by email. No response. Be aware: shiny surface; little substance.

  Great refurbished rooms and restuarant

  Highly recommend accommodation dn restaurant just outside Bellingen. The old rooms have been refurbished and are beautiful. Beds are fantastic, service fantastic . The restaurant has been done up and has an excellent atmosphere and food. the pool has been refurbished and is excellent. Thanks for a wonderful stay and well done to the new proprietors you have done an amazing job.

  Lovely half way stop Sydney to Byron

  Very happy we found the Lodge to break up our trip from Sydney to Byron. Unfortunately the weather wasnt kind but still the Bellingen area is actually breathtakingly beautiful- especially the Never Never Creek in the Promised Land. The lodge is a newly renovated motel with a fabulous pool and great restaurant -Hilltop- attached. The pool has a wood fire pizza and bar ( but unfortunately neither was open even though it was Saturday night which I found odd). The Hilltop restaurant serves fantastic fresh meals with a small bit carefully considered menu. My only comment is that for the level of food it would have been nice to have tablecloths rather than bare tables which had a cafeteria like vibe. The rooms are nicely renovated and appointed. Bed very comfy. Unfortunately the internet was very weak and a smart TV would have been appreciated. Also the rooms are not soundproof but thats presumably because of the Lodges previous life as a motel. Stunning view over the valley from small terrace outside. If you dont mind hearing your neighbours in the next room and are looking for a stunningly situated hotel with a pool and great restaurant on site, the Lodge is the place for you.

  This place is stunning!

  We were driving from Brisbane to Sydney and picked the Lodge to overnight as the halfway point. We had never been into Bellingen before and were just totally blown away with how beautiful it was. The only downside for us that it was only 1 night, next time we will stay longer. Our room had a king bed and was very new (I believe renovations completed in January for the wing where we stayed). I cannot recommend highly enough - stay there and you wont be disappointed. Bed was very comfortable, room immaculately clean and it was super quiet even though it was full house. Thank you for an amazing stay we will be back!
