    great hotel but never again

This hotel is spotless and can not in anyway fault the hotel or it's staff..the grounds extremely clean and well kept and all hotel areas are immaculate. They staff are very helpful indeed, especially Ms Agata, a reception clerk who, when we could not get a taxi to the station on departure gave us a lift at a fraction of the cost of a taxi. The only thing that annoyed me and this was not at any fault of the hotel but the travel company, is that the hotel is nowhere near rome. It is accessible by bus from the bottom of the hill on the main road, but the buses are fairly frequent, but the likelyhood is that you are not going to get a seat ( knows what a sardine feels like now ).If you want to get to rome from hotel..you have to purchase tockets ( biglietti ) from the newsagent stand by the bus stop (remember to validate the tickets in the yellow machine on board the bus). You then have to travel to a station called saxa rubra..where you have to get a train a rome station called Flaminio, which is fine as this is a starting area for many rome city walks. But if you wish to go further into the centre of rome ie Termini the main rail station you have to come out of Flaminio station and enter the Metro which is outside of the station to the left. The return trips are a complete reverse of course, but depending on the time of day the journeys can be completely horrendous by virtue of the fact you are unlikely to get a seat ( on the buses ) that is. This hotel is said to be 30 minutes from Rome correct if you travel direct by taxi..but beware the taxi drivers ( not all ) that you are likely to get charge the EARTH in all honesty it will take anything up to an hour or more depending how full the buses are and indeed in they actually stop for you ( one went straight bye ). If you unfortunate to get a flight package that has you arriving late at Rome and you are travelling to this hotel ( forget it do not take the booking ) as to get to the hotel you have to ( here goes ) get to rome termini station ( from airport that will take app 40 min ), then go to rome termini metro, get a metro train to Tiburtina, change to the mainline train and go to Monterotondo station, and this is where the fun begins..no connectiong trains or buses to the Bellavista, no taxis one can be called if your lucky enough to find a station porters light on in the office ( your gonna be stuck ) one couple I spoke to had to spend the night in rail office till the following morning till services resumed. Travel trains buses metro is cheap enough but taxis other than the licensed yellow or white ones are a complete rip off..so good luck..

    FANTASTICO IN FRASCATI

I stayed at the Bellavista with my wife and a couple of friends during the Mayday weekend. A superb family run business, spotlessly clean great views and very helpful staff. A generous breakfast was available every morning until 10.00a.m. I would recommend this to any travellers. The rail station is just a short walk from the hotel with regular trains into Rome, on weekdays every 30 minsa little sparodic at weekends. Frascati is typically Italian with a host of restaurants/bars and at a fraction of the price of downtown Rome. The market is excellent the locals very friendly and weloming. Highly recommended

Amazing hotel...to bad it wasn't in Rome.

We stayed in this hotel as part of a travel group. I was sad it wasn't actually in Rome, but it was so far and above all the other hotels we had stayed in, I didn't even care. The room was giant, the bathroom, was decent, the windows had rolling shutters so it was pitch black at night and there were two air conditioners. This American appreciated that very much. The staff was AMAZING! There were water vending machines as they said not to drink from sinks. It was clean and adorable. You need to have a car to stay here, however. There is not a bus that goes here and a taxi into Rome would be pricey. A few people have mentioned that it's in a bad neighborhood, and there were some run-n places, but I have seen much worse. I travelled with students and I felt confident walking through the neighborhood to th restaurant and store down the hill.

Amazing Hotel, not so nice area

I found this hotel on booking.com and it looked very nice so I booked it for one night. We got into Rome late at night around 11:30 pm. I should note that we were driving our vehicle and that this hotel is actually note in Rome but a good 30 minute drive outside of Rome. Anyways, we get off the exit and were looking for this hotel at night....good luck. The signs were hard to spot and we drove up the road where we thought it was only to find ourselves in a not so nice neighborhood. After about 45 minutes of driving around we finally found a guy who had a idea of where the hotel was. Its at the very top of the hill, Its surrounded by a large wall almost like a compound. When we pulled up tot he hotel we couldnt believe it. It looks stunning at night because all the lights are on and everything is clean and white. Overall, the hotel, rooms, and grounds were very nice. I just wasnt too excited about the surrounding area.
